3 1.2 Requirements for the certification Knowledge: Specialist knowledge in accordance with the ICB 3.0, ICBC 1.0 and pm baseline 3.0 Experience: at least 3 years of broad experience at the PMC level 1 and at least 3 years of experience in managing projects Participation in a certification briefing Consultancy Area The candidate shall be able to deliver PM consultancy services at project level. Consultant Competence Is proficient in established consulting methodology and tools as well as intervention methods. 1 One consultant year is calculated as 150 consultant days (CD) (incl. pre- and postprocessing). 5 2 Application process The application process is segmented into the following steps: Registration on the pma website Upload of the completed application form including: o PM Self-Assessment o Report Proposal Review of the submitted application form by the pma certification body Admission to the certification by the pma certification body 2.1 Application form The application form can be found in Appendix PM Self-Assessment The PM self-assessment can be found in Appendix Report Proposal Please transmit the Report Proposal together with the application form. It contains the following ranges: Organisation chart of the consulting mandate Time schedule of the consulting mandate Brief description of the consulting mandate The length of the Report Proposal should be 1 3 pages. 6 2.4 Payment details Please find the price list of the pma certification fees on our pma website price list certifications pma/ipma. If the certification process is not finished one year after authorisation (not including repeated exams), the authorisation expires. In case of a new start of the certification process the full amount of the certification fee has to be paid. In case of withdrawal from the certification before admission, a cancellation fee of EUR (= EUR % VAT EUR 22.00) will be charged as due; after authorisation the total fee is due. In case of the exam date being postponed, an administrative fee of EUR (= EUR % VAT EUR 22.00) will be charged. In case of a non-fulfilment of the requirements of the respective certification level respectively in case of a non-fulfilment of the requirements within 1.5 months, an administration fee of EUR (= EUR % VAT EUR 22.00) will be charged. If the candidate fails the knowledge part (Multiple Choice Test, PM Consultancy Exam) the candidate can retry after 2 months at the earliest. If the retry of the examination is needed because of lacking experience (Report, Interview) a retry may be possible after 12 months at the earliest. The entire process has to be completed within 1.5 years after participation in the first exam. In case of a new start of the certification process, the full amount of the certification fee will be charged. In case of a retry of the certification as PMC (Project Management Consultant) a fee of EUR (= EUR % VAT EUR 34.00) will be charged for the PM Consultancy Exam and EUR (= EUR % VAT EUR 75.00) for the Report / Interview. You will receive the invoice approximately 1 month previous to the certification date by post. The invoice is due 14 days of invoicing without deduction. 7 3 Report process The report process is segmented into the following steps: 3.1 Report Preparation and submission of the report by the candidate Aims of the report The candidate should point out her/his PM competences according to the structure table. The main aim of the report is to evaluate the PM Consultant qualifications (knowledge and experience) of the certification candidate. Formal rules The report has to be prepared by herself/himself. The project description has to be clearly understandable for the pma assessors. Real, not ficitious: A real consulting mandate has to be chosen. Consulting mandate data can be anonymous. The report has to be uploaded via e-support by the specified date. Supported data formats and size: Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) or compressed files (.zip), max. 5 MB The candidate has to ensure that the report can be printed (i.e. formatted to A4) and is readable in b/w before submittment. The number of pages of the report should not exceed 45 pages. Report timetable The final submission date will be announced via e-support. The report has to be uploaded via e-support at the latest 3 weeks previous to the certification day. 3.2 Structure of the report for the certification as Project Management Consultant In the table below you find a description of the contents and the number of pages as requested. All competence elements (PM-Contextual, PM-Technical, PM-Behavioural) have to be considered. A consulting mandate should be described at project level. The assessment criteria are used according to the guidelines of the ICB and ICBC for knowledge and experience appropriate to the respective certification level. If you have successfully passed the certification your name is going to be published on the pma and the IPMA website as well as in print media (once at the end of the year). 17 The IPMA PMC certification is valid for 5 years. After 5 years it is possible to apply for a re-certification IPMA PMC or if the applicant fulfils the requirements of the respective level - to apply for the certification IPMA PPMC. next step: self-assessment of PMC knowledge and PMC experience with regard to the 3 competence elements (incl. interpretation with regard to knowledge and experience) 7.2 PM self-assessment Certification candidate First name / Last name / Title... Current job function Company General information on the self-assessment of PM competences The PM competences are divided in 3 different ranges: PM-Technical competences PM-Contextual competences PM-Behavioural competences Each competence element is composed of knowledge and experience. The PM self-assessment must be completed accurately and truthfully. It therefore requires some time. The level of PM-competence is calculated in the self-assessment by means of a taxonomy (see ICB ) from 0 to 10, where 10 is the highest possible grade. In order to accomplish a meaningful self-assessment, it is necessary to read and understand the description of each competence element in the ICB version 3.0, ICBC 1.0 and the pm baseline. Based on these descriptions, the candidates' competence, with regard to knowledge and experience, will be assessed. The taxonomy in the ICB and ICBC support the evaluation and assignment of values. The requirements with regard to knowledge and experience can be viewed in Appendix 2 of the ICB and in the ICBC. Please indicate in the form below how you estimate your knowledge and experience with regard to the corresponding competence elements. Summarize, by using keywords, how you estimate your knowledge and experience for each area of competence (2-3 sentences for each); for very high and low values please provide an explanation.
