1 Career & Technical Education What is Career Technical Education (CTE)? A blend of early career discovery and skill development through hands-on courses Early career launch through sequenced career pathway courses Opportunity to build career relevant certifications and early credit towards postsecondary degree Connect with future Charlotte employers through job shadows and internships What is a CTE pathway? Four to six course sequence using state of the art equipment that allows students to build industry relevant knowledge of their chosen career field Embedded industry credentials Deepening industry experience for each sequential course taken Most pathways articulate to a pathway through two or four year university, or the next level of necessary certification Instruction for pathway students builds deeper work based learning opportunities Courses build industry ready skill to allow student to apply for high quality internships By completing a CTE pathway, students have the opportunity to begin building a professional network with Charlotte employers before graduating high school.
