NGI is recognized for the EOLO brand, the wholly owned hi-speed independent wireless network that delivers Internet access in areas where traditional technology is not available. NGI employs 110 people and in the last fiscal revenue reached 28 Million Euro. NGI is a privately owned company entirely based on Italian investments. Cambium & NGI Cambium Networks and NGI have worked together since March 2013 to deliver high speed broadband services in Italy. Working collaboratively, Cambium Networks has already provided NGI with its portfolio of Canopy Point-to-Multipoint (PMP) solutions, which offer the bandwidth, flexibility, ease of installation, intuitive operation and cost-effectiveness that make high-speed broadband accessible. NGI has just named Cambium Networks as its Best Partner for 2013, with plans to deliver wireless broadband innovation for residents and businesses across the country. With ambitious goals set for the coming years, NGI needed to identify a technology partner which they could work together with to develop a wireless network infrastructure capable of meeting the high connectivity requirements that the EOLO network promises, including performance, scalability, and reliability for data, voice and video services. 2 The two companies worked together to develop EOLOwave so that it offers ultra-broadband 30Mb/s speeds, which have been set as a key goal by the European Digital Agenda. The EOLOwave platform has been designed by NGI and Cambium Networks using the PMP 450 infrastructure to further improve efficiency and management related to the uses specifically required by the EOLO network. New algorithms have been created to optimize the usability of the device (antenna/radio) to deliver a reliable, ultra-fast broadband connection. Software solutions have also been implemented to allow the product to easily integrate into the EOLO network, particularly focusing on management monitoring. NGI Network NGI has approximately 150,000 wireless customers across the North and Middle of Italy. NGI network is growing at rapid pace with between 2,500 & 3,000 subscribers deployed each month. Cambium Network PMP450 enables NGI to offer speeds up to 30Mbps to meet the European Digital Agenda goals. The service has proved extremely popular and some sites have in excess of 170 subscribers per access point. Cambium s PMP450 has a very low latency and this enables VoIP services to be offer across the network. NGI also utilise Cambium s world beating PTP650 wireless platform to provide backhaul connectivity to many of the hundreds of PMP450 Access Points deployed across Italy. With Dynamic Spectrum Optimization (DSO) supported in the PTP 650, the radio is constantly optimizing the channel of operation to maximize link reliability and performance. This feature contributes to NGI being able to reach network availability of up to % availability in virtually any environment, including non-line-of-sight, long-distance line-of-sight, high interference, over water and desert, and through extreme weather conditions. With this high level of availability and channel efficiency NGI can deliver more throughput with less spectrum and less investment in even the most challenging environments. Working with NGI, Cambium Networks also delivered their new Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), C3VoIP-150, which combines the PMP450 PSU and an ATA for VoIP calls. This product helps make NGI s service more sticky and enables their customers to make cheaper calls. NGI are able to generate more revenue streams from VoIP services and their end customers can save money by removing their existing fixed line. The NGI network will continue to grow and working together with Cambium the network will evolve to meet the ever growing demands. Cambium Networks evolution of the PMP450 will continue into 2015 and beyond to enable sector capacity to grow and enable more bandwidth to more subscribers to be delivered.

3 Cambium & Airband Community Internet About Airband We are a small, rapidly growing, fixed wireless internet service provider based in Worcester UK. We are made up of network and wireless engineers giving us a strong technical bias. We use this strength to provide innovative services, rather than confuse you with jargon. In April 2002 we launched our first wireless broadband service for 20 companies in Warwickshire. Although historically our focus has been mainly on business, since 2011 we ve been responding to the growing demand from residential communities for high speed broadband, particularly in rural areas. Today our network covers areas of Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Powys. We provide high speed broadband and voice services to residential customers as well as large and small businesses. Cambium & Airband Worcestershire County Council are driving to increase broadband speeds locally so that 90% of businesses and residents have access to superfast broadband by 2015 and with speeds of a least 2mbps for everyone else. The County Council has also enabled 14 parishes of approximately 2000 residents and 200 businesses to have enhanced broadband speeds in a unique scheme, made possible through Sustainable Transport and Green Infrastructure funding the grants have been made available to communities which may not benefit from the countywide superfast broadband deployment. Airband Community Internet Ltd was selected by Worcestershire County Council and community representatives to deliver enhanced broadband services to the 14 parish communities which applied for the funding. Airband was chosen because of its experience of providing local community broadband and the packages it offers to other Internet service providers, residents and local businesses. This project was also a break though as BDUK rubber stamped the project for state aide support to use Cambium Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) broadband technology. This will give confidence to other councils that Cambium FWA is a technology that will provide a real benefit to rural areas, now! Airband Network Airband partnered with Cambium Networks to deliver to the solution which utilised Cambium s Point-to-Multipoint (PMP) 450 and Point-to-Point (PTP) 650 solutions as they will enable Next Generation Access speeds of 24Mbps and above in areas with low bandwidths, and those that

4 are currently without broadband. The carrier-grade solution will enable Airband and its resellers to offer wide-range connectivity, scalability and high reliability for small and medium enterprises and residents in the rural area. Airband realised very quickly that the key to the success was the engagement of the local residents in the parishes. Airband developed a community engagement plan that enables all the parish residents to have an opportunity to understand the challenges and rollout schedules. This part of the solution was extremely successful as Airband were able to gain the confidence and support of the residents. The residents in some cases have been willing to allow access to private land for tower and installations to help Airband bring broadband to their community. The PMP 450 has enabled Airband to rapidly deploy new services, with high capacity and high reliability while maintaining the commercial viability that is essential to keep the service running. The flexibility of the PMP450 is such that it can provide long range connectivity of up to 20 miles and with its Near and Non Line-of-Sight capabilities, it provides the best performance in the most challenging of Worcester s rural deployments. Community Impact Armed with Cambium technology and its community engagement plan, Airband is perfectly placed to support the local community by providing crucial connectivity to both the un-served and underserved. The success can be measured in the increasing subscription take up which are currently running at almost 50 per week. In addition Airband has a facebook page that is bursting at the seams with compliments about the broadband service, which cannot be bad! The County Council made this funding available as we knew the difference this would make to local people and importantly, to businesses making sure the county is open for business is an absolute priority. In essence faster internet has allowed me to undertake tasks that potentially have an impact upon a large number of students' futures, both studying and beyond University, far better than before. The investment by Worcestershire County Council has had a personal impact that goes beyond monetary calculation. I am immensely grateful that this facility has been made available and fully support expansion to other rural areas."
