1 FUSION-ENABLED XCELLON-ULTRA NG DATA SHEET HIGH-PERFORMANCE APPLICATION LOAD MODULE HIGHLIGHTS Under Ixia s Fusion program, the Xcellon-Ultra NG load module is capable of running the IxN2X application, as well as IxNetwork, IxLoad, and other Ixia applications. Supporting Ixia applications and the IxN2X application on a high-density platform, this unprecedented crossplatform compatibility provides an extraordinary value proposition to IxN2X users. It also allows users to leverage their hardware across IxN2X and XM platforms. IxN2X, in conjunction with IxLoad, IxNetwork, Test Conductor, and other Ixia applications, provides support for a wide breadth of protocols and application testing, such as Converged Ethernet. Ixia's Xcellon load modules are the highest-performing and most scalable application traffic generation solution available in the industry. The Xcellon-Ultra NG offers complete layer 2-7 packet generation, routing, and application testing functionality in a single XM load module. Xcellon-Ultra NG 10GbE Load Module The Xcellon-Ultra NG load module combines the processing power and resources of up to twelve port CPUs into one physical port, providing the highest layer 4-7 line-rate performance -- unmatched in the industry. Each test port supports wire-speed layer 2-3 traffic generation and analysis, high-performance routing/bridging protocol emulation, and true layer 4-7 application subscriber emulation and traffic generation. The twelve GE ports can be used to build an ultra-high density test environment for auto- 1

4 APPLICATION-LAYER PERFORMANCE TESTING The Xcellon-Ultra NG load module, in conjunction with Ixia testing software such as IxLoad, enables scalable test solutions for converged multiplay services and application delivery platforms. They emulate data, voice, and video subscribers and the associated protocols for performance testing. Unique and advanced subscriber modeling capabilities create realistic scenarios to validate subscriber quality of experience (QoE). The Xcellon-Ultra NG load module executes high-performance testing of content-aware devices and networks. It can create real-world traffic scenarios at layer 4 (TCP/UDP) and layer 7 (application layer), emulating clients and servers for Web (HTTP, SSL), FTP, (SMTP, POP3, IMAP), streaming (RTP, RTSP), video (MPEG2, MPEG4, IGMP), voice (SIP, MGCP), and infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP and Telnet.
