2 TACLINK : Tactical Communications System Integration, Control, Adaptation and Routing Currently, the biggest challenge with communication networks is the diversity of devices that are used in various scenarios. The complexity added in using elements of different manufacturers makes it even more difficult to provide a global data network. During exercises and missions, the necessary personnel must arrive at the right place at the right time with optimal coordination. Communications in these environments play a major role as they are responsible for moving the necessary information through the network. Information is vital and decisions are made based on the data and information obtained. Current constraints require the design of very limited networks that do not allow for the potential of communications in service. The operative of the troops is in turn restricted by the capabilities provided by the current communications infrastructure and they are unable to respond to the real demand for functionality. This system, at the same time, must be both rapid in deployment and simple in configuration to facilitate its general implementation and any possible expansion with new nodes or elements of data and voice transmission. TACLINK is a state-of-the-art system that incorporates "Tactical IP" technology, capable of adapting the conventional IP networks and modifying the protocols to adapt them to the network infrastructure and the communication devices. The system is responsible for automatically managing and controlling network traffic by performing advanced tactical router tasks and routing information dynamically, addressing not only real-time availability of communications devices and network status, but also to prioritize and distribute traffic to optimize the use of available bandwidth. TACLINK also offers a complete Voice solution that allows any point of the LAN all the services of voice radio, satellite and VozIP. This ability to integrate the world of radio with the IP world, coupled with specialized Voice applications offered by TACLINK, is a radical change in the use of voice on the battlefield. 4 TACLINK - Communications Infrastructure Fundamentals of the system DATA INTEGRATION: The TACLINK system is the point where both the communication devices and the clients and services that use data are integrated and connected. TACLINK will therefore be the only one managing the radio equipment as well as the communications with the clients and IP elements of each LAN. SYNCHRONIZATION: Once the communication equipment, clients and services are integrated into the system, the TACLINK routing protocol is in charge of synchronizing the existing nodes. PRIORITIZATION: TACLINK's new dynamic routing system, coupled with its ability to prioritize traffic in different ways (by devices, networks, DSCP, etc.), allows the creation of real-time complex networks that automatically adapt to the tactical environment. On the other hand, the system incorporates communication protocols adapted to the media, ARQ, compression and automatic data encryption. VOICE INTEGRATION: TACLINK is not only a dynamic data management system in tactical environments, it is also a complete Voice solution that makes the services accessible from any point in the LAN. An operator, equipped only with a PC and connected to the LAN, will have full access to the Voice services of all communication devices integrated in TACLINK. TELECONTROL: The telecontrol of communications equipment is one of the fundamental characteristics of the system, providing the required voice and data coordination, equipment programming, remote control client interface as well as selective calling services.
