6 Solutions Hotspot A HotSpot is any location where Wi-Fi broadband network access is made publicly available through a WLAN. HotSpots are often located in heavily populated places and typically have a short range of access. HotSpots are often found at restaurants, train stations, airports, libraries, coffee shops, bookstores, fuel stations, department stores, supermarkets and other public places. Many universities and schools have wireless networks in their campus. Technically speaking, HotSpots consist of one or several wireless access points installed inside buildings and/or adjoining outdoor areas. These APs are typically networked to printers and/or a shared high-speed Internet connection. Some HotSpots require special application softwares to be installed on the Wi-Fi client, primarily for billing and security purposes, but others require no configuration other than knowledge of the network name (SSID). In this solution the following Netkrom have been utilized to meet the requirements: MB-ROMB V4 and the AIR-PTP5000L, both allowed for the interconnection between remote points in the non-licensed bands of 5.8GHz and 900MHz. From the main site was deployed a point to point link in the band of 3.5GHz (Netkrom MB-ROMB +3.5GHz module + 28dBi directional dish type antenna) to a repeating site of Telefonica located at Prieto Hills.
