18 The solution The Yurok Connect Project: The Solution Carlson team picked locations for 3 major access points that could be hidden in trees Discovered that UHF signal reached well into obscured areas Results: immediate community improvement Installed dedicated public safety line Currently installing fire station,, elementary school and office building Results: Product improvement Better equalization Sharp canyons created significant multipath A more robust equalization algorithm necessary Innovative antenna design Effectively capture NLOS capabilities of signal Omnidirectional and sector UHF base station antennas
