2 Frequently Asked Questions Question 1 When will the new range be available for sale? Answer Memshield 3 panelboards will be released for sale in November Question 2 Will the existing range of Series-G MCCBs fit into this new enclosure platform? Answer No, the range of Series-G will not fit into the new enclosure platform as the frame size profile is different. There is no forward or backward compatibility between the present and new ranges. Question 3 Will the existing range of Series-G MCCB protection devices continue to be available? Answer Series-G MCCBs will continue to be produced in the USA and there are no plans in the foreseeable future to discontinue the range. We are forecasting on-going demand to the supply chain management and will carry appropriate stock in the UK. In order to maximise stock flexibility we will rationalise the range by removing some of the breaking capacity options during 2012 when the range reaches aftermarket status. Question 4 Will the existing range of Series-G panelboards and accessories continue to be available? Answer Our plan is to cease production of panelboards and associated accessories at the end of this year. At this stage we will carry approximately 2 months stock profile to cover demand for the old range. Question 5 What will be the stock cleanse policy for distributors? Answer We will allow stock cleanses of Series-G panelboard range items in line with our standard terms and conditions up to the end of Q During this time we will be working closely with our Distributors to manage the introduction and transition to the new panelboard range. Question 6 Why is Eaton changing such a successful range of products? Answer The Series-G panelboard range has earned a strong reputation for meeting today s electrical power distribution needs. However, since the launch of the present range some 6 years ago we have been facing some challenges on the specification of the range such as requirements for 4-pole incomers and the time/cost to install L2 Building Regulations compliant metering. The new panelboard range is intended to address these issues and to use the features and benefits of the new NZM MCCB range, such as fully adjustable trip units on all MCCB frame sizes. This new device platform will also facilitate product innovation in the future. Question 7 Will all product variants be available at the launch on 1st November? Answer Yes, the full range will be available. Question 8 What is the form of separation specification? Answer The panelboard as a standard catalogue item can achieve Form 3b Type 2.
