1 Avaya Modular Messaging Configuration Note Version G (1/10) PHILIPS SOPHO (EMEA) Sopho-S/iS3000 Series SOPHO Message Application Server Return to Operator Voice Boards Call ID MinimumSoftware Release 730 Minimum Software See section 2.0 With In-band integration, one pathway between the PBX and the Message Application Server transmits both call information and voice communications MAS Requirements 1 Release Note: Should features of the integration not function optimally when integrated to a PBX or MM that may be operating on an unsupported software release as defined Section 2.0 and 3.1, customers will need to upgrade their PBX and/or MM to a supported software release. PBX Requirements 1.0 METHOD OF INTEGRATION With Inband integration, one pathway between the PBX and the Avaya Message Application Server (MAS) transmits both call information and voice communications. The pathway is provided by 2-wire analog singleline circuits that connect to Dialogic card in the MAS. Each Dialogic port simulates 2-wire analog lines. Calls to the MAS ports are preceded by the called party information from the PBX in DTMF format. The MAS then answers and plays the appropriate greeting. 2.0 AVAYA MESSAGE APPLICATION SERVER REQUIREMENTS Dialogic D/41 or D/120 cards (4 and12 ports/cards) Software Releases 1 : 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 4.0, 5.x 3.0 PBX HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS One analog extension circuit and line cord per MAS port 3.1 PBX SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS Minimum software 1 : 730 The FVM protocol (Offhook Voice mail) installed Correct service dongle if required Disclaimer: Configuration Notes are designed to be a general guide reflecting AVAYA Inc. experience configuring its systems. These notes cannot anticipate every configuration possibility given the inherent variations in all hardware and software products. Please understand that you may experience a problem not detailed in a Configuration Note. If so, please notify the Technical Assistance Center at (800) , and if appropriate we will include it in our next revision. AVAYA Inc. accepts no responsibility for errors or omissions contained herein.
2 Philips Sopho 2 Supported integration features 4.0 SUPPORTED INTEGRATION FEATURES Items are supported System Forward to Personal Greeting All Calls Ring/no answer Busy Busy/No Answer [ ] Station Forward to Personal Greeting All Calls [ ] Ring/no answer [ ] Busy [ ] Busy/No Answer [ ] Auto Attendant Call Me Direct Call External Call ID (ANI) [ ] Find Me [ ] Internal Call ID Message Waiting Multiple Call Forward [ ] Multiple Greetings [ ] Multiple Return to Operator N+1 [ ] Outcalling Configuring the Sopho to integrate 5.0 CONFIGURING THE SOPHO TO INTEGRATE Assigning the facility class mark voice_mail_server to the related DNR activates the voice mail service. The on-hook protocol is offered by default. The required off-hook protocol is selected by additionally setting system option off_hook_voice_mail_protocol. A dongle with a voice mail Server license is required to access a voice mail server using the off hook protocol. The Integration information is passed in-band across the 2-wire extension lines. The message format detailed below can be configured by the PBX and sent across the line using DTMF tones. Programming forward to personal greeting 5.1 PROGRAMMING FORWARD TO PERSONAL GREETING Each extension can be programmed by the user to divert to the pilot number of the MAS. The following call-diversion types are available on the Sopho. Immediate or All Calls, also known as "call forward," will forward all calls. Busy Diversion will divert calls to a specified extension when the user is on the phone. This can be specified by the user for all calls or by the system manager for external calls, internal calls, or all calls.
3 Philips Sopho 3 A mailbox user will typically have internal calls forwarded on Busy to the MAS and may also forward external calls if a secretary is not available. Ring-no-Answer will divert a call if the user does not answer his phone within a specified time (usually 15 seconds). This can be specified by the user for all calls or by the system manager for external calls, internal calls, or all calls. A mailbox user will typically have internal calls forwarded on RNA to the MAS and may also forward external calls if a secretary is not available. FVM Protocol 5.2 FVM PROTOCOL Precondition: The VMS DNR is marked as Voice_mail_server and the system option off_hook_voice_mail_protocol is set and licensed. When a call is made to the Sopho to the Voice Mail Server, the Sopho will wait for the Voice Mail Server to answer the call then the Sopho will wait for approx. 1 Sec (+/- 20%) before it sends additional information (as DTMF digits to the Voice Mail Server. During transmission of that information, the caller still hears ring tone. After having transmitted the additional information, the Sopho will connect the caller. The additional information consists of the following DTMF digits. Diversion cause: one of the following digits 0 = no Diversion 1 = Diversion on Busy 2 = diversion on no reply 3 = Other diversion cause (e.g. follow me) Calling party type; one of the following digits: 0 = External party, identified by route number 1 = Internal party 2 = External party, identified by calling line ID. Calling number; the call initiator Internal call (calling party type = 1) contains up to 20 digits (0..9,#,*) representing the number of the extension or operator. External calls identified by route number (calling party type = 0) contains up to 20 positions, one or more decimal digits representing the route number of the trunk line, followed by a asterisk, followed
4 Philips Sopho 4 by one or more decimal digits representing the line number of the trunk line. External calls identified by calling line ID (calling party type = 2) contains up to 20 digits (0..9,#,*), representing the unrestricted calling line ID of the calling party. If the calling line ID is restricted (Only available in s/w 740 and above), route and line number are displayed instead of calling line ID. Identifier: Digit A Called number: the number of the called party Non-diverted calls contain up to 20 digits, representing the number of the voice mail server. Diverted calls contain up to 20 digits representing the number of the diversion initiator.
