2 gesis LINECT components Pluggability for more light Bringing plug and play to lighting installation As the market leader for pluggable electrical installation systems, Wieland has developed an adapter with the capability to install luminaires in the conventional, hard-wired way, or with a complete, and pluggable, connector system. Many luminaire manufacturers are taking advantage of the outstanding system by offering a single hybrid fixture design, which incorporates a special connector, and then our adapter allows either a conventional or pluggable installation. Building on the success story of gesis TOP, and further developing the basic concept, LINECT was created, a new and open standard. The LINECT standard specifies the interface between the luminaire terminal and the LINECT connector. The open system enables all component manufacturers to manufacture and market their luminaire terminals or connectors using the LINECT interface. The open standard increases the acceptance of the pluggable installation concept, as more pluggable luminaires are available. By using the LINECT interface, luminaire manufacturers can offer a single hybrid design for the intended application, and meet all the customer s connector system requirements. 2

6 gesis LINECT makes luminaires pluggable Flexible and universal The gesis LINECT connector from the gesis series turns regular luminaires into pluggable participants in our world of gesis. Whether with 2 poles for DALI applications or with 5 poles for emergency lighting with gesis LINECT this can be implemented easily using the principle of pluggability. Technical data: Voltage: 230 V Current: 16 A (output to 16 A luminaire, too) Detachable 2 to 5 pole designs 11 different codings Only VDE or KEMA certified LINECT products may be sold (EN61535, EN61984, EN60598, LINECT compatibility certificate).
