3 1. Safety The following symbols mean: Caution! Read these operating instructions fully before use and pay particular attention to sections containing this symbol. GENERAL SAFETY Use only as specified in the operating instructions provided. The unit should be not be used if dropped or damaged. The unit must be stored and transported in a horizontal position (see package label). After transport or storage allow the unit to dry out (2-3 hrs) before connecting to the supply voltage. Before using any cleaning or decontamination method except those recommended by the manufacturer, check with the manufacturer that the proposed method will not damage the equipment. Do not attempt to modify the unit. ELECTRICAL SAFETY Connect only to a power supply with a voltage corresponding to that on the serial number label. Only use the external power supply unit provided with this product. Ensure that the switch and external power supply connector are easily accessible during use. Before moving the unit, disconnect it from the mains. To turn off the unit, disconnect the external power supply from the power outlet. If liquid is spilled inside the unit, disconnect it from the mains and have it checked by a competent person. Page 3

4 DURING OPERATION Do not impede the platform motion during operation. Do not operate the unit in environments with aggressive or explosive chemical mixtures. Do not operate the unit if it is faulty or been incorrectly installed. For indoor use only. Do not use outside laboratory rooms. Do not place a load exceeding recomended loading mentioned in p. Specifications. BIOLOGICAL SAFETY It is the user's responsibility to carry out appropriate decontamination if hazardous material is spilt on or inside the equipment. Page 4

5 2. General Information Mini-rotator provides vertical rotation of the platform. It is an ideal instrument for preventing blood coagulations, for extraction, diffusion and dialyzing biological liquids in test tubes. PTR-25 is a compact device suitable for convenient use in small laboratories. Page 5

6 3. Getting started 3.1. Unpacking Remove packaging carefully and retain for future shipment or storage of the unit The unit set includes: Standard set Mini-Rotator with timer for test tubes, PTR-25 with standard platform PRS-22 u...1 pce. External power supply...1 pce. Operating Instructions; Declaration of Conformity...1 copy. Optional accessories PRS4-12 platform v...on request PRSC-18 platform w...on request PRS-22 PPRS4-12 PRSC Set up: - place the unit on an even horizontal working surface; - plug the external power supply unit into the 12 V socket at the rear side of the unit Platform replacement Screw out two fixing screws on the platform. Replace the platform and install the new platform securing it with the screws. Page 6

Connect the external power supply to the mains Place tubes on the platform: microtest tubes up to the end; vacutainers and tubes with caps - halfway Switch ON the Power switch (Fig.1/1), timer indication (Fig.1/2) lights up. On Off 1 7 Speed 4.4. Using pand qkeys (Fig.1/3) set necessary working time, using timer indication as a guide. The set time is displayed in hours and minutes (hh:mm) Press Start (Fig.1/4) key. The platform begins rotational movement and the timer starts counting up the set time interval (time interval less than 1 hour is displayed in minutes and seconds (min:sec), more than 1 hour - in hours and minutes (hh:mm)) Using the Speed knob (Fig.1/5) set the necessary rotation speed (according to the method prescribed) After the set time interval is expired the platform rotation stops and the set time interval is shown at the timer indicator To repeat the operation with the same working time and speed press Start key If necessary Rotator can be stopped before the achievement of the set time by pressing Page 7

8 Stop/Reset key (Fig.1/6). For 20 s timer indicator will show the time Rotator worked, after that - the set time interval If the Stop/Reset key is pressed longer than 3 sec set time interval is deleted If the working time is not set (or deleted) and the indicator shows 00.00, pressing Start key starts continuous operation of the Rotator until the Stop/ Reset key is pressed Switch OFF the unit using the Power switch at the end of operation Disconnect the external power supply from the mains. Guarantee When used in laboratory conditions according to this manual, this product is guaranteed for TWO YEARS against faulty materials or workmanship Service & Maintenance There are no user-serviceable parts inside the unit. For all maintenance and repairs return to our service department in the UK or in other countries,our distributor Cleaning & Disinfection Standard ethanol (75%) or other cleaning agents recommended for cleaning of laboratory equipment can be used for cleaning and disinfection of the unit.
