4 1 Safety instructions 1.1 Notes on symbols and instructions Symbols: Assembly and commissioning must be carried out by qualified personnel only and according to these operating instructions. 5 1.2 Basic safety information This description contains the necessary information for the correct application of the product described below. It is intended for use by technically qualified personnel. Qualified personnel are persons who, because of their training, experience and position as well as their knowledge of appropriate standards, regulations, health and safety requirements and working conditions, are authorised to be responsible for the safety of the equipment, at all times, whilst carrying out their normal duties and are therefore aware of, and can report, possible hazards (Definition of qualified employees according to IEC 364). DANGER Hazardous Voltage! Failure to observe can kill, cause serious injury or damage. Isolate from mains before installation or dismantling work, as well as for fuse changes or post installation modifications. Observe the prescribed accident prevention and safety rules for the specific application. Before putting into operation check if the rated voltage for the unit conforms with the local supply voltage. Emergency stop devices must be provided for all applications. Operation of the emergency stop must inhibit any further uncontrolled operation. Electrical connections must be covered. The earth connection must be checked for correct function, after installation. 1.3 Specified use The units described herein are electrical controllers for installation in industrial plants. They are designed for power adjustment on vibratory feed equipment. NOTE Any other use is inappropriate and will result in the warranty becoming null and void. See also our General Terms of Business. 6 2 Description of the device 2.1 General Logic box for vibratory feeders for linking external control devices, sensors and valves to autonomous functional units. With the Smart Box the necessary functional linkages can be made for a complete feeding station with linear-, bowl- and hopper feeder. In addition, an air jet valve to be operated with adjustable lead-and delay time. The smart box contains two input sockets (M8) for 24V PNP sensors, these are the functions jam control, level control and linear feeder start / stop assigned. All sensor inputs are invertible in the function. Via 24V output signals to external control devices for the vibratory feeder via the enable inputs are controlled (start / stop). A 24 V Air jet Valve can be connected directly to the corresponding output. The time delays for the individual functional levels can be set via the integrated display. The states of the inputs and outputs are shown in the display via LEDs. NOTE Repair work must be carried out by qualified personnel only. We recommend that repairs are carried out on our premises. The holes are separated from the interior of the housing. (See Figure 1) 3.2 Installation Check! NOTE Do supply voltage, operating voltage of the conveyor and controller input voltage match? Connect the unit in accordance with the wiring instructions and ensure that earthing is correct! Page 8 7/31/2017 R02.0

9 NOTE New units are factory set (see table with settings). For units with unknown settings, first recall the factory settings using Menu C 210 'FAC'. 10 4 Operating instructions 4.1 Menu control Menus are used for changing settings. The different parameters are selected by entering a code. All adjustments are made by firstly pressing the P key, followed by selecting the entry code, using the cursor keys. Settings: Pressing the cursor key for a short time causes a unit increment/decrement, holding down for a longer time gives changes in tens of units. Setting changes are saved upon leaving the menu or automatically if a key is not pressed for 60 seconds. 4.2 Messages Messages Linear feeder is being filled Stop via -Key system enable = "off" when bowl feeder is switched off Page 10 7/31/2017 R02.0

19 5 Maintenance instructions 5.1 Replacing the fuse Procedure: 1. Always pull the plug out before opening the controller. 2. Unscrew the housing cover screws. 3. Replace the defective fuse. 4.
