2 Hardware The TomaHawk 8635A is the newest generation of AMOT programmable controllers. Featuring a large 4 line x 20 character display and sufficient I/O to handle the most demanding engine/ compressor applications. Software The functionality of the controller is determined by the user data downloaded from HawkWin, a Windows based configuration program. HawkWin simplifies programming by using separate Windows for sequence and analog functions. Common functions, such as override classes, first out annunciation and alarm and shutdown setpoints have been integrated into the software for ease of programming. The 8635A automatically logs the last 64 events with a date and time stamp. The sequence diagram (ladder based) allows users to create control logic for their specific applications. HawkWin provides single menu configurations of items such as inputs, outputs, timers and display messages. All object names are user definable while programming or troubleshooting. Plain text messages can be fully configured by the user; alarm and shutdown annunciation is automatic. HawkWin uses an analog diagram to represent the operational flow of analog inputs, data and outputs. By placing objects and connecting them, the user draws the process functionality for the associated control. Examples of available embedded functions are PID control, split range control, multiplex, setpoint constants, group average and most standard math functions. Virtually any functionality the user desires can quickly be programmed in the field using HawkWin and dowloaded into the 8635A via a laptop PC and a standard 9 pin RS-232 computer connection.
