2 COT 20 Continuous linear slide staining machine The most versatile Choose With its assembly-line working principle, the medite tissue stainer COT 20 offers a lot of advantages to busy histology and cytology laboratories, where many slides have to be stained during the day. According to the chosen time intervals, easily 500 to slides are processed in one hour. Staining continuously and linear, what does this mean? COT Standard version with open side panels. With its increased number of 27 staining stations the standard model offers the most flexible design of staining procedures and the highest throughput. The additional storage container for up to 4 slide holders equipped with 4 staining troughs allows 5 holders with 20 slides each to be started simultaneously. The staining time is adjustable from 20 seconds to 12 minutes and is the same for every bath. The staining result is determined by the selection of reagents and the number of identical baths used. By this method, at the end of the first interval already, the next slide holder can be added without interrupting the process. The flexibility of the tissue stainer COT 20 grants a large number of variations, the use of all common staining solutions and intermedia, and the application of all staining procedures used in histology and cytology routine.

It applies to labs where a connection to an external ventilation system is not possible. The solvent fumes are led via the refillable filter unit where the charcoal adsorbs the solvent residues. 4 In detail Up to 27 staining stations and capacious staining troughs of 250 ml volume each, enable a high durability of the solutions and an optimum arrangement of programmes. Between station no. 2 and no. 17 water rinsing is provided by a simple, tubeless system of plugging the special troughs into the central water supply. There is only one tube connection each for water in- and outlet necessary. When the slide holder has passed through the staining process, an acoustical and optical alarm indicates that the stained slides can be taken out. In order to avoid bottle-necks in the working procedure in case of a large amount of preparations, the two solvent containers integrated in the working plate can be used for the storage of slide baskets. The automatic drain cycle, adjustable between 1 and 30 seconds, reduces the carry-over of the solvents. An agitation provides a better distribution of the solvents on the slides. However, it can be switched off to prevent that sections of sensitive specimens detach from the slides. Health and environment protection The standard equipment of the tissue stainer COT 20 includes a fume extraction system with two ventilators. During the staining procedure, the instrument is closed by a transparent cover, leaving the possibility to check the slides. When the stainer is not in use, the staining troughs are covered by aluminium lids to prevent evaporation of the solvents. For laboratories, where it is not possible to connect the stainer to a central exhaust facility, a charcoal filter unit can be installed to clean the fumes. These measures guarantee an optimum protection of the user.

6 Another highlight of our instrument line RCM 7000 Coverslipping machine for histology and cytology Proven technology combined with new features The new high speed glass coverslipping machine RCM 7000 assures consistent, bubble-free dispensing of the mounting media at a high quality standard. It has the capacity of applying 450 glass coverslips per hour at a maximum speed of 8 seconds per slide. The coverslipping speed is adjustable and enables a flexible throughput. The RCM 7000 coverslipping machine has been designed to accept a wide range of commercially available mounting media and is compatible to all models of staining machines on the market. In addition, the new media bottle attachment allows most mounting media containers to be simply screwed in place. The amount of media dispensed is easily and accurately controlled by the keypad interface and provides always the right performance for histology and cytology slides.
