8 BuildOpt Terminal Plate Assembly MDU The BuildOpt Terminal Plate (TPA) is an innovative solution for fiber distribution to living units in a Multi-Family Dwelling Unit environment. The BuildOpt TPA features a plate-mounted rotating spool, on which the fiber tail and fiber cable slack are stored. After mounting the TPA, the installer simply unlocks the spool and pays out the desired length of fiber tail, utilizing the supplied pulling eye. The pre-terminated tail can then connect to an Opterna Collector Plate or Collector/Terminal Plate. The TPA may also connect directly to Opterna s TurnOpt FDH. TPA models are available with one or two 12-fiber tails having standard stub lengths of 100, 200, or 350 feet. User-defined lengths are also available. The 12-fiber TPA can store one tail up to 400 feet in length. The 24-fiber TPA can store two tails up to 200 feet in length. Each 12-fiber tail is terminated with a low loss 12-fiber female MPO connector. Drop cables up to 4.8mm in size are supported. 10 Micro Terminal MDU The Micro Terminal contains a long, durable pre-terminated fiber jumper that is packaged in a palm-sized, all-plastic enclosure having built-in fiber adapters and slack storage. The fiber pays out easily from the Micro Terminal for routing back to the main terminal. Once the fiber is routed, the excess fiber slack is reeled back into the Micro Terminal for easy and convenient storage. The Micro Terminal can be ordered with 1xSC Simplex, 2xSC Simplex, 1xLC Duplex, or 2xLC Duplex connectors and adapters for your fiber application. It comes with a convenient Desktop Mounting Bracket that can be used to mount the Micro Terminal onto any flat surface (upside down or right side up in any direction.) It also comes with a Wall Mounting Plate that allows the Micro Terminal to install directly over any single-gang or double-gang outlet box or mud ring. The fiber routes conveniently behind the Wall Mounting Plate into existing conduit. 14 Mini Terminal MDU The Mini Terminal is a miniature, all-plastic version of Opterna s patented BuildOpt Terminal Plate Assembly, optimized for accepting drop cables from living units or commercial units in smaller Multiple Tenant Unit (MTU) or Multiple Dwelling Unit (MDU) applications. It s a small but versatile plug-and-play fiber distribution solution for MTU, MDU or generic FTTx applications. The Mini-Terminal supports four configurations with user-defined lengths: MINI-0: 12F SM MPO Solution with Dual 6F Splice Trays. MINI-1: 12F SM MPO Solution with a 12 Port SC/APC Panel. MINI-3: 8 Port 1F SM Solution with a 1x8 splitter and 8 SC/APC Ports. MINI-4: 8 Port 2F SM Solution with 2x(1x4) splitters and 8 SC/APC Ports. MINI-6: 8 Port 2F SM Solution with a 2x8 splitter and 8 SC/APC Ports. The Mini-Terminal features a removable rotating spool on which the fiber tail and fiber cable slack are stored. The base mounts onto any flat surface and the spool pays out the desired length of fiber. The spool locks onto the base to prevent additional rotation after payout and slack storage. The pre-terminated 12-fiber MPO fiber tail can be connected to any number of fiber products including the Opterna TurnOpt Collector Plate, Collector/Terminal Plate, or MT Collector Assembly, or to the Opterna TurnOpt Fiber Distribution Hub. The pre-terminated 1 or 2 Fiber SC/APC tail can be connected to any number of terminals after routing down a hallway, riser or conduit pathway. 18 BuildOpt Collector Plate Assembly MDU The BuildOpt Collector Plate Assembly (CPA) is an integral component of Opterna s fiber connectivity system. The BuildOpt CPA provides an integration point between the TurnOpt Fiber Distribution Hub and the BuildOpt Terminal Plate, enabling a zone or distribution network design for MDUs. The CPA features a bend-insensitive fiber cable stub that is pre-terminated with six or twelve 12-fiber MPO connectors. Riser-rated or Indoor/Outdoor cable stubs options are available in 100, 200 and 350 lengths. User-defined lengths are also available. The CPA includes a ground connection, four mounting holes and a mounting template/installation guide. 20 BuildOpt MT Collector Assembly MDU The BuildOpt MT Collector Assembly (MTCA) combines the features of a CPA in an optimized enclosure. The MTCA features a 72-fiber or a 96-fiber bend-insensitive fiber cable stub, preterminated with six or eight 12-fiber MT Connectors. Riser-rated or Indoor/Outdoor cable stubs are available in 100, 200 and 300 lengths. User-defined lengths are also available. The rugged metal enclosure includes watertight seals and glands to protect the internal connections. Cable management features ensure proper retention and placement of the fiber cables. Exterior features on the MTCA enclosure include a grounding bolt, integral wallmount brackets and a door- locking tab with a padlock provision. 22 Terminal Access Box (TAB) MTU, SFU Opterna s Terminal Access Box (TAB) Family offers low-cost fiber termination solutions that provide access for up to 24 fiber ports in two conveniently-sized boxes: TAB-12: 4, 8, or 12 Port Configurations in a traditional two-layer design having a rear splice area for cable slack and splice protection, and a front interconnect area for SC ports. Dimensions are 9.0H x 8.0W x 2.2D inches. TAB-24: 8, 16, or 24 Port Configurations in a simple single-layer design having all splicing and all interconnects under one cover (indoor applications only). Dimensions are 9.5H x 7.0W x 2.5D inches The TAB-12 is suitable for indoor or outdoor FTTx applications that support up to 12 subscribers. It has a compact, light-weight wall-mountable housing with a weatherproof gasket and three weatherproof cable entry/exit ports. It easily accommodates 1 or 2 splitters, 12 splices and 12 SC ports. The TAB-24 is a multi-purpose fiber terminal that can be pre-terminated or splice ready for 1 or 2 splitters and/or 24 SC ports. It is very suitable for FTTH applications in multi-dwelling buildings. This terminal is small, light-weight and perfect for fiber routing. It s wall mountable, and very easy to install and maintain. The TAB-24 provides quick access to 24 fibers. It also allows straight through cabling to multiple floors while distributing fibers onto each floor. The required fibers assigned to the floor will be accessible, while the other fibers continue through the box to their destination (without interruption). A Fiber Distribution Hub (FDH) is strategically located in the OSP to connect various inter and intra networks. Opterna s TurnOpt FDH combines unique patented features with field tested components to address plug-and-play and splice connectivity requirements. TurnOpt is also uniquely engineered to interconnect with BuildOpt, FDB Series, TAB Series and ODB Series products. For OSP applications, TurnOpt is available in either pole or pedestal mount versions.
