2 reflex electronic modules Prepared for the future The requirements of the future become increasingly complex. Intelligently networked, optimized systems, connected to a centralized data communication, will be successful. Thus, Reflex equipment engineering is developed as a system-enabled technology already today. Each system - whether pressure-maintaining or deaeration system - is equipped with a scalable micro-processor control that meets even the highest demands. Thus, our variomat, reflexomat, and gigamat systems are, in combination with reflex electronic modules able to communicate between themselves and with your control rooms. The modules range from the communication module for the remote control through various bus modules for the data communication with a stored program control to software packages with the intelligent connection of different Reflex systems. Apart from our standard offer, we are able to offer solutions that are tailored to your individual needs. 4 reflex extension module direct transmission of digital and analog signals Connection The Reflex microprocessor control can be connected to other systems, such as a SPS, through its digital inputs and outputs as well as through analog outputs. reflex microprocessor control, e. g. reflex variomat, with or without reflex extension module Example: Connection to SPS Relay outputs Digital inputs 24 V DC and 230 V AC Analog outputs 4-20 ma Adapter on site The reflex extension module 4 By default, the Reflex microprocessor control includes two floating relay outputs for group failure and minimum water level. In addition, six floating relay outputs, three digital inputs for 24 V DC, three digital inputs for 230 V AC and 2 analog outputs are available through the optional extension module that can be connected via to the microprocessor control. The function of the additional digital inputs and outputs can be programmed with a PC software. You can choose between a default or special parameterization. The analog outputs issue the measured values for pressure and level. 5 reflex communication module The comfortable remote control Connection The plant technology cannot always be arranged in such a manner to allow the optimum controlling using the Reflex microprocessor control. The reflex communication module remedies this matter. It provides of the same user interface as the control unit of the system and allows the monitoring up to a distance of approximately 1,000 m from the system. The connection to the reflex microprocessor control is performed through a 3-wire cable to the interface. 6 reflex The standard interface: basis for various solutions Data exchange through By default, the reflexomat, variomat, and servitec controls provide of a RS 485 data interface. This interface forms the basis of other solutions that are described in detail in this brochure. For this application a reflex 'bus modul' is needed, which provides a proper interface e.g. for the connection with a PC and allows a recall of the operating status as well as some additional operating data from the control. The interface protocol is documented in the operating instructions of the system and must be programmed accordingly in the other device, e.g. on the PC (software development not included in the reflex scope of services).
7 reflex field bus connections Transmission of signals through bus connections The Reflex scope of services The Reflex scope of services includes the corresponding bus module with an interface for the related field bus and, if required, the reflex add-on module. Other necessary field bus components, particularly the field bus master or a PC with field bus connection, must be provided by the customer. The accounting is performed on an object basis according to the expenditure as a detailed adjustment to the bus network is required. The commissioning of field bus gateways or of the digital input module in the LonWorks network can only be performed by a specialized company as specified commissioning tools are required. The following section presents different solutions in form of examples. Of course, other field bus solutions are possible upon request. reflex LonWorks digital Here, the connection to the reflex microprocessor control is performed through its floating relay outputs. On the LonWorks side, there is an interface with FFT-10A transceiver. The connection is made through terminal screws. As the digital LON bus module provides of four inputs, up to four digital signals of the control can be transmitted. The control must make the required signals available through floating relay outputs. To this purpose, the standard relay outputs for group failure and minimum water level and/or additional relay outputs of the optional reflex extension module can be used.

On the Profibus side, there is a floating interface with a baud rate of 9.6 kbit/s up to 1.5 Mbit/s. A sub-d plug is required for the connection. reflex Ethernet through 9 The connection to a 100 Base-TX-Ethernet network can be made through an optional bus module (gateway of on Ethernet). reflex Ethernet B reflex microprocessor control H H x B x T : 200 x 180 x 75 mm Degree of protection: IP 54 Ethernet 100 Base-TX The operating state and further operating data of the control can be retrieved via the Ethernet/IP protocols or via Modbus/TCP (depending on the variant of the bus module). Furthermore, the representation as web page is possible. A RJ45 socket is present for the connection to the Ethernet network.
10 reflex compound connection The intelligent connection of several systems The intelligent networking of several systems and the modular increase of performance require new software solutions. With the compound connection I, Reflex enables you to operate multiple pressure-maintaining stations in hydraulically coupled systems (e. g. combined heatrefrigeration network) that are adjusted according to the master-slave principle. Using the compound connection II, gigamat control units can be coupled electronically in such a manner that the performance can be doubled in the parallel operation mode. reflex compound connection I Master-slave operation Multiple pressure-maintaining stations can be used in the compound operation if the electronic units are networked through the interface. In this operating mode, the pressure maintenance is performed by one system (master) while the other systems (slaves) are only used for the volume compensation. Master Slave Slave To this purpose, the current level value of the master system is cyclically transferred to the slaves. If the level value of a slave system deviates from the master system by more than ±5%, a level compensation is initiated. 10 Example: reflexomat in the master-slave operation Notes to the installer If hydraulic systems are to be alternatively separated or operated together, a masterslave operation is required. Examples are the summer and winter operation of cooling and heating systems or the connection of several heat generating systems. The master performs the pressure maintenance and the slave only serves for the volume compensation. In case of the isolated operation (motor valve M closed), the two reflexomat are operated independently from one another as master with pressure-maintaining function. 11 reflex compound connection II Modular performance extension for gigamat reflex gigamat pressure-maintaining stations are offered as standard installations for heating systems up to 30 MW The reflex compound connection II allows to double this performance to 60 MW. To do so, one gigamat control unit is used as basic module and another one as secondary module. The modules are electronically connected through the, and the basic module is able to trigger the secondary module using a special software. Thus, 4 pumps and 4 to 6 overflow valves can be switched according to the performance. On the tube side, the two pressure joints of the modules are to be connected with the expansion line. The two suction joints are connected with the gigamat vessels by means of a power line. gigamat in the compound connection II Notes to the installer expansion line towards the system If you plan a suitable, cost-effective pressure maintenance for a system >30 MW, please consider the compound connection II with two gigamat pressuremaintaining stations. reflex gigamat Basic module reflex gigamat Advanced module of the gigamat vessels This type of connection allows you to couple two standard gigamat in a modular manner.
