4 Main range For the perfect application PLUGTRAB PT is the the range of surge protective devices for measurement, control, and regulation (MCR) technology. The requirement profile of this product range has been defined based on practical experience. Low space requirements, solution-oriented circuit technology, impedance-neutral insertion and removal, low price level with maximum performance these are just a few of the advantages that PLUGTRAB PT has to offer. The two-piece design provides maximum ease of maintenance for the user. The base element always remains an integral part of the installation. There is no need for complex operations during overhaul work, for example. Whether two, three or four-wire measuring technology, PLUGTRAB PT offers the perfect solution for all applications. Thanks to impedance-neutral insertion and removal, sensitive signal circuits, such as those for temperature measurements or bus systems, are not affected when the protective connector is replaced. With regard to cable shielding, direct or indirect connection to local ground is supported depending on the selected base element. s specifically designed for applications in intrinsically safe circuits are available. 7 Selection guide The selection of surge protective devices for MCR technology depends on several factors. The protective circuit required is primarily determined by the type of signal circuit. Accordingly, a distinction is made in the first few columns of the adjacent table. In the case of binary switching signals, a distinction must then be made between grounded and ungrounded operation. Further selection criteria concern the design of the housing. Both the connection method and space requirements must correspond to the installation environment. Two-piece modules comprising a connector and base element provide convenience. In the event of maintenance, it is therefore not necessary to access the installation. Using the corresponding selection criteria, the selection guide helps you find the right product quickly and easily.
