3 General Information Before you operate the machine, please read this manual carefully. Do not operate the machine until you understand the contents of this document. PF-3000 Multi-Currency &Documents Detector apply multi-spectrum detecting principle,it can show clearly the latent image on various documents which can not be observed by eyes. With this device, the user can judge genuine or false easily, it is a professional authenticating device. Scope of Application:Various banking documents, banknotes, bankbook, ID card, passport, secrecy documents.etc Option:Portable Battery, Image Adapter Should you have any doubts, please contact your local distributor, or sales agent, for further advice. 4 Key Function 1. WH Key: Press this key to turn on the White Light detecting mode, press it continuously, the machine operates under top white light, side white light, half side white light 1, half side white light 2, alternation of half side white light, alternation of top white light, side white light and half side white light 1 by turns 2. IR Key: Press this key to turn on the IR detection mode, press this key continuously, the machine operates under top IR light, side IR light and alternation of IR light by turns. 3. UV Key: Keep pressing this key for 3 seconds to turn on the machine. Press this key to turn on the UV detecting mode. Keep pressing this key for 3 seconds to turn off the machine. Caution 1.Do not put the machine in dusty, moist places, keep the machine away from places where it can be exposed to direct sunlight, hot source or strong vibrations. 2.To prevent shock hazard, do not disconnect the plug by wet hands. 3.Take out the Device from package carton, firstly check whether accessories are complete, should lack of any accessory, please contact merchant immediately. Operation 1. Before turn on the machine, please check if the local voltage is accordant with the requirement of machine 2. There are following two ways to connect with the power supply First:Connect the output end of the Power Adapter to the device via the DC12V socket in the rear of the Device, connect the input end of Power Adapter to the power socket. Second: Connect the output end of the potable battery to the device via the DC12V socket, connect the other end to the input socket of the battery, then turn on the switch of battery. 3. If an external display is needs, you may output the video signal through AV socket (PAL/NTSC) -3-

5 4. When the electricity is on, the power indicator will show red. Keep pressing the UV key for 3 seconds to turn on the machine, the power indicator will show green, the LCD display begins to show image in the meantime, the top indicator of WH will be on, the machine enters into top white light detecting mode, the camera on the top begins to work. 5. Press the WH key, to switch the top white light, half side light1, half side light 2, alternation of half side light, alternation of top white light, side white light and half side white light 1 by turns. Place the documents, banknotes on an even table-board. Top white light can be used for checking latent colored stripe, printing quality and color on documents and banknotes. Side white light can be used for checking the intaglio printing. Half side white light can be used for checking the latent image printing. The alternation of top white light, side white light and half side white light 1 can be used for checking the optical variable ink. 6. Press the IR key, the machine switches the top IR light, side IR light and alternations of IR light detecting mode. Under alternation mode, two groups of IR light turn on and off by turns, and the corresponding IR indicator blinks by turns. According to the IR blinking character (usually called M elements also), it is easy to judge. 7. Press the UV key to switch the UV detecting mode. Under UV light, you can observe the UV mark and fluorescence fiber of documents and banknotes. 8. The machine will automatic turn to standby status if there is no operation of the machine for 15mins, the power indicator will show red, green, yellow by turns Output of Video Signal If the machine needs to be connected with projection device or TV, you can use the Av socket to output the video signal(pal/ntsc). If the machine needs to be connected with PC, you can connect one end of the AV cable to AV socket, the other end to the yellow socket of the Image Adapter, and plug the USB cable of the Image Adapter to the USB port of the PC which already installed the software, then you can collect the image or observe the image. -4-

6 Charge the Portable Battery(Option) The Portable Battery is a chargeable, Lithium battery designed for users who go outside without electricity accommodation. 1. The Portable Battery can last for 1 to 10 hours in various standards when fully charged or under factory s standard using condition. The customer may select practically. 2.Operation steps: Connect the Power Adapter to 220V(50/60HZ)alternating current socket, connect the power adapter cable to input socket of Battery. The battery begins to charge(before fully charged, the indictor is red, when fully charged, the indicator is green)(when the battery is charging or not in use, please turn off the output switch, don t use the battery for the machine while it is charging ). In first three times, when the battery is totally discharged, please charge it for 12 hours in order to guarantee the long time use of the battery. Note: When charge the battery, please use the power adapter supplied with the machine. If you use other power adapter, the battery may explode while charging and cause damage to body.
