5 1 Overview A number of adapter boards are available for the 3000-OEM. The adapter boards provide different I/O, camera inputs, or digital outputs. The boards can be attached directly to the 3000-OEM or through a secondary adapter allowing customers to swap out modules for custom configurations. Design files are also available for customers to build their own boards. Contact Sales for the latest boards available. 1.1 Available Adapter Boards 3000-IO 3000-HDSDI Output 3000-HDMI 3000-Sony / Tamron 3000-FFC 3000-CL 3000-AB (Dual Analog) 3000-HDSDI Input 3000-HITACHI 3000-USB Note: The 3000-IO board was previously known as the SLA-3000-MAIN board. 1.2 Associated Documents EAN-Panel Plus User Guide: Provides descriptions of all the settings in the Panel Plus application. (Located in the Panel Plus application in the Help menu.) ICD-3000-OEM: Describes power requirements, thermal management, interface specifications, and connector pin-outs for the 3000-OEM. EAN-Startup Guide 3000-OEM: Describes steps for connecting, configuring, and testing the 3000-OEM video processing board on the 3000-IO interface board. EAN-HDMI-Input-Setup: Setup and configuration information for the HDMI cameras. Interface Command and Control (IDD): Describes the native communications protocol used by the SightLine Applications product line. 1.3 Software Compatibility Windows 7, 8, or 10 required for use with the Panel Plus software. 1.4 Hardware Compatibility Standard Ethernet network connection to the SightLine hardware. 1.5 Sightline Software Requirements Panel Plus software and firmware versions: 3000-OEM board - Panel Plus and Firmware or higher IMPORTANT: The Panel Plus software version should match the firmware version running on the board. 6 2 Safe Device Handling CAUTION: To prevent damage to hardware boards, use the following Electro Static Discharge (ESD) guidelines: Use a conductive wrist strap attached to a good earth ground. Before picking up an ESD sensitive electronic component, discharge built up static by touching a grounded bare metal surface or approved antistatic mat. 3 Thermal Management 3.1 Gap Filler (Thermal Grease) When possible use some form of thermally conductive liquid gap filling material such as Arctic Silver rather than an adhesive. Do not use thermal grease in conjunction with gap pads. 3.2 Gap Pads When possible, some form of thermally conductive material for filling gaps between hot components and heat sink should be used. Examples such as the Bergquist VO Ultra Soft are recommended. 9 Access serial port 1: Connector J5 provides access to serial port 0 by default. Connector J5 can be configured to provide access to serial port 1 by removing R16 and R18 and populating R17 and R19 with 0-ohm resistors (MFG PN ERJ-3GEY0R00V or similar). Only one resistor pair should be populated at a time. 15 HDMI Supports multiple video formats up to 1080p60. The 3000-HDMI provides some level of ESD circuit protection when plugging in cameras and other devices. The 3000-OEM writes EDID data to the 3000-HDMI input board. This EDID data includes instructions for the camera on what resolutions are supported. The HDMI board then signals the camera to read the EDID data. EDID data is how an HDMI monitor communicates what resolution it supports to the PC/camera. The HDMI camera reads the EDID data and determines what resolution to output. It then sends video to the 3000-HDMI board, which decodes the video and sends it to the 3000-OEM. If the camera is powered on after the 3000-OEM, the camera detects that it is connected and then reads the EDID data. See EAN-HDMI-Input-Setup for additional operational information.
