2 THE SUITABLE MONITORING UNIT FOR YOUR MACHINE PROTECTION The requirements on safety systems for today's machines and installations are growing more complex. On the one hand, the number of safety components required is steadily growing, and on the other hand, safety circuits need to be designed to provide simplicity and clarity. Some system components must be stopped immediately, while others need to be powered down safely with a delay. With SafeBox, this can be implemented with a single monitoring unit. Flexible and simple to configure, it can be customised to your application, saving costs for mounting, installation and operation at the same time. Features of the SafeBox: Modular construction, with flexibility for expansion and adaptation to your application, you get only what you really need. By using dummy modules, later extension is possible at any time. It contains the microcontroller control of the SafeBox. 5 THE RIGHT MODULE TYPE FOR VARIABLE FUNCTIONALITY SB4 MODULES 4C SB4 MODULES 6C The 4- or 6-channel sensor card module makes it possible to connect safety devices in single-channel or dual-channel design. 4 or 6 sensor channels Yellow LED status display per channel For the connection of: 2-wire safety photodetectors 2-channel safety devices with potential-free outputs single-channel emergency shutoff SB4 MODULES 4M The muting module realises the muting function for the sensor channels of the 4 or 6 channel sensor card module fitted immediately to the left of the module. 4 muting channels DIP switch for selecting the operating modes (parallel, sequential, time windowlimited or protection beam-limited muting) 2 independent muting lamp controls with monitoring (double muting) For each muting channel 1 LED for status display 1 input for emergency muting (override) SB4 MODULES 2E The OSSD-R/E stop is a category 1 emergency shutoff module and makes it possible to shut down one or more system components with a delay (0 s s). This makes sense if not the entire system is to be taken out of operation in the case of an interruption of a safety device, but only the affected drive. Arrangement of the modules The following modules may belong to a group: Sensor card modules Muting modules generate a muting procedure for the sensor module fitted immediately to the left of the muting module Stop function cat.0 modules or stop function cat.1 modules: The OSSD modules set to stop function cat.1 are also assigned to a group. They switch off with a delay after the OSSD cat.0 module of the group.
