RAPID RESPONSE TIME The SS3000e analyzer takes four measurements per second with a laser and detector and immediately averages the results. Because there is no contact with the gas, real-time measurements are not hampered by wet-up or dry-down times as with surfaced-based sensors. STATE OF THE ART TECHNOLOGY The analyzer works by shining a laser beam through the sample cell. The laser beam is selected to interact only with the measured compound, creating an absorption signal. The higher the concentration of H2O, the greater absorption of light and the stronger the corresponding absorption signal. Spectrum Software analyzes these absorption peaks to produce very accurate and repeatable measurements. Since the calculation is a direct, fundamental measurement, the amount of H2O present can be measured in realtime. RAPID RESPONSE TIME At four measurements per second, the analyzer can measure the fastest changes in the pipeline. Adjustable, real-time results display every seconds. NO CONSUMABLES Because the analyzer s sensor never touches the gas stream it does not get contaminated. The factory set calibration lasts for the life of the analyzer and reconditioning is never required. A read out comparison of the SS500e (left curve) and a slower sensor demonstrates how eliminating long dry-downs can drastically reduce costly shutdown times. In this example, the alarm state is erroneously extended for hours. In addition, reduced installation costs, support and complexity are achieved via a single technology for gas quality measurements. GAS QUALITY SIMPLIFIED The analyzer system includes all required sample conditioning and regulation. The sample system is heated to 50 C (122 F) to keep all constituents in vapor phase. Training requirements are reduced and the system enables fewer electrical runs, fewer sample runs and less labor. Installation and operational costs are dramatically reduced. 2-Pack Analyzer System with Heated Sample Conditioning and Pressure Regulation The Installation diagram on the left is a simple representation of connection to the pipeline. A variety of sample probe products are available to compliment the application. SpectraSensors offers probes, probe regulators, and heated regulators depending on the pressure in the pipeline, the gas and ambient temperatures and the hydrocarbon dew point.
