Standard Package Items Product Brief Introduction Intelligent flap barrier is a brand-new product of WEJOIN Company. Flap barrier, as the upgraded version of the tripod turnstile and swing barrier, is a hi-tech product for pedestrian access control. WEJOIN Flap barrier has features of precise craftsmanship, comprehensive functions and high technology. It has application in high class communities, intelligent buildings, hotels, subway stations and other high level venues. Flap barrier is the combination of machinery, electronic, CPU control and variety of personal authentication identification technology. IC card, ID card, code bar, and fingerprint identification unit are compatible with the flap barrier. Choosing different identification equipment and applying reliable security protection devices, alarm devices, direction indicator to realize the intelligent management of access control is comply with the fire safety requirements. Flap barrier motor can be classified into single motor and double motors. The single one is used for single lane and the double one is used for multi- lanes..functions and Features A. Basic function and features a. The design is of integration of machinery and electronic structure, with special drive style, stable and reliable machinery auto locking solution, precise worm gear, and cabinet composite structure. b. Malfunction self-detection, which is easy for operation and maintenance. c. Operational mode can be set up through the built-in menu on the control board. d. Infrared photocells for anti-clamping. e. Flap auto-reversing when meeting exterior force. f. Audible and visual alarm in case of unauthorized access. g. Anti-collision function, the flaps will stay close if not receiving the open signal. h. Flaps work synchronously. i. Auto reset function, after the flaps open if no pedestrian passes in a fixed

3 time, the system will cancel the order and the auto-reset time is adjustable. j. Flaps open when power off, and auto-close when power on. k. Compatible with diverse access control devices. l. Access control devices working mode Two modes management: a. Online mode, control the flap barrier by computer. Only the registered can pass; b. Off-line mode, store the authorized information in the chip which is on the control panel by computer to realize access control. B. Traffic light indicator function a. Traffic lights on both sides of the flap barrier are the indicator of access status, while the middle traffic light is the indicator of the working status of access control devices. b. When the middle traffic lights turn to green, it means to pass and the red light means no-entry. c. The traffic lights on both sides can be set to indicate access for left or right or bi-direction. C. Self-protection and alarm functions a. Flap auto-reversing when it meets exterior forces to protect the motor. b. Time-out protection: when the flaps open and no person pass through, the system will automatically close after fixed time passes. c. Flaps retract back when power off, and auto-close when power on. d. Socket for fire control linkage. D. Infrared ray detecting function a. 4 5. Product Structure 6. Motor structure and cabinet dimensions: A. Mechanical system The flap barrier mechanical system includes the cabinet and the motor. On the cabinet, the access lights, access control devices, infrared sensors can be installed. The motor mainly consists of DC motor, gearbox, motor brackets, transmission shaft, and flaps. ( Please refer to Page 6 for motor structure) B. Electric system This system includes reader, control panel, infrared sensor, access light, alarm device, limiter, power supply switch and back-up battery. Each passage consists of two swings, two motors, two control panels, two power suppliers, several groups of infrared emitters and several groups of infrared receivers. Control panel on the receiver side set as Master P0 and control panel on the emitter side set as Slave P. Both readers connect to the Master control panel, which control the Slave control panel by wires. 7 wires are used for the Master to control the Slave. (Refer to P 4 for details) A. Mounting Instructions Recommended width 50mm 600mm 75mm 75mm 50mm Build mounting base and put the wire tubes for 3*.5 mm for single-phase power line and 8*0.5 mm for controlling line; Please refer to the figure below: use 8 expansion bolts to fix the flap barrier to the base. Then connect the power line and place the control lines to the control case. 7 B. Instructions for multi-lane installation For this installation, please refer to the below figure to make sure the separate flaps in the same line. Cabinet A must deviate 6mm in terms of the cabinet B spot, and cabinet C must deviate 6mm in terms of the cabinet B spot. c. Switch connecting methods Ⅰ.Dry contact signal: Refer to the Wiring diagram, number 8 is OPEN, number 9 is CLOSE and number 0 is COM. It's NO(normally open) signal. Check the line connection, make sure no plug loose and flap barrier earthed and then turn on the power; C. Preparation before use a. Access devices input socket: +V electrical level signal > 00ms, V impulse signal driving current>0ma or dry contact signal, RS3 communication signal. b. Power line connection: Connect the power line correctly by referring to the signs of switch socket. D. Warning: a. Without permission, do not randomly put any periphery devices around the flap barrier; if do, please make sure it is earthed; all this is to ensure the flap barrier working normally; b. when the flap barrier is used outdoors, the mounting base should be 00~00mm in height and the shelter is compulsory. 0

8 E. Machine adjustment and operation a. Preparation before operation Study the manual and prepare the flap barrier. b. check wiring connection Check all the wiring system to make sure all connections are correct. Warning: the flap barrier must be earthed before any attempt of adjustment and operation. c. The switch signal is NC; the flap will close when power on and it will open when power off. d. Function adjustment Ⅰ. Open the flap barrier by access control device. Ⅱ. The alarm will sound 3 seconds after unauthorized access happens. Ⅲ. When the access signal is activated, the middle traffic light will turn green to remind quick pass. At the same time, the flaps open and the passing time begins to run until the flaps close within the fixed time. If the passing time runs out and no pedestrian passes, the flaps will close and the traffic light turns red. Ⅳ. When passing, if the two persons get too close(less than 0cm), it will be treated as one person carrying belongings. Ⅴ. The flap running time is adjustable, check the Instructions for the Motor System Program Set-up for detailed information. F. B6 B a. Nixie tube displays are the three LED digits counting from left to right on the control panel. b. The four buttons from top to bottom are OPEN-, CLOSE, OPEN-, and SET SET is used to enter and exit the menu for functional setting. CLOSE is used to save the finished set-up. OPEN- is used to increase the parameter needed, Open- is to decrease otherwise. c. Normally, the LED displays 000, press SET, then the LED displays P0 which means it is in the status of parameter setting, now press OPEN or CLOSE can only change the current function, flaps won t move automatically. Press OPEN, the LED displays P, press CLOSE, the LED displays P0. Keep pressing SET till the LED displays 000 to save settings and exit the menu. d. If want to do more changes to the menu parameter, user can enter into the menu to finish the objective change, save and exit. For example, if needed to turn to off-line mode (The machine work as reader test mode before leaving the factory in practice), the resetting time after unlock is long; to clear the left counter data, user can set as follow: Press SET twice in the ordinary mode, the LED displays P0, then press OPEN twice, the LED displays P; press SET twice again, the LED displays P40, and press OPEN twice, the LED displays P4, then press SET three times, the LED displays P70, press OPEN or CLOSE once can change the status of the red and green lights for once, then keep pressing SET till LED displays 000 to save settings and exit the menu. All settings are finished then. 4 5

Troubleshooting and Solutions A. Partial or whole system is no power when power-on. Check the plug and wire to make sure no connection problem. Check the fuse of the control board to make sure no damages. B. No flap opens and no reaction after input of the open signal. Check the indicator of the control board and make sure it can receive the open signal. Make sure the open signal wire be well connected. C. One flap can open but the other can t. Check the connection of the on-line wire, and make sure connected correctly. And make sure the control board of the nonfunctional one can receive the signal. If it can receive the signal, check the connection again. D. The flap can open but can t close after input of the open signal. Infrared signal might be blocked. Make sure the infrared photocells of two cabinets are in the same line before installing the cabinets, and only with aligned sensors the flap can work well. If infrared sensors are not aligned, the machine will alarm when poweron. Make sure the infrared sensors are well connected. E. Flaps don t stop in the limit position when open or close. It might be the malfunction of limit switch, the loose or displacement of the limited switch can t sense the flap to the limit position. User can adjust the position of the limited switch to renovate. F. Flaps don t open after power-off. Check the back-up batteries (lead-acid batteries) connection and voltage, make sure the back-up batteries is charge with enough time. 6 7
