8 HELP Function Operation: HELP button is ON Place the mouse pointer on the error item. Then, message of error details or expected value appears. Incorrect information appears in RED characters. Note: this function does not support Video Timing and Video Code. 8

9 Audio Timing Operation: Analyze Audio Timing [Linear PCM] db display Up to 8-ch can be measured. Switch to show value type of volume display HEX display 9

10 Audio Timing [High Bit Rate Audio / One Bit Audio] Example: Dolby Digital + In case of Compressed Audio (High Bit Rate Audio / One Bit Audio), the volume can not be measured, because VA-1842 does not have a decoder. 13 CEC and DDC Monitor These Monitor functions can be used in Receiver, Repeater and Through Mode. CEC Monitor DDC Monitor This data can be saved as LOG data in USB Memory. It needs LOG saving operation in the following page. 13

14 CEC Line Capture Operation: Analyze Monitor CEC CEC Line Capture Wheel click of Mouse : start/stop To search waveform, use Left click & mouse move. Example: Image View On(OP Code=04) command from the Source. Simple Oscilloscope function You can also confirm the status by CEC Monitor. 15 DDC Line Capture Operation: Analyze Monitor DDC Line Capture Wheel click of Mouse : start/stop To search waveform, use Left click & mouse move. Binary 0111 = 7 Binary 0100 = 4 Simple Oscilloscope function SDA (Serial Data Line) SCL (Serial Clock Line) It is also useful to check frequency of one clock. Slave Address: example 74 is for HDCP, A0 is for EDID read You can also confirm the status by DDC Monitor. Operation: Analyze Monitor DDC Line Capture 15

16 HDCP Status Operation: Analyze HDCP Status HDCP2.2 HDCP1.4 In case you connect to HDCP1.4 supported device and VA-1842 is set as Generator mode with HDCP2.2, the value shows all zero. 16

17 Lip Sync Function To be supported later Operation: Analyze Lipsync The DUT should output designated test patterns. Measuring Condition Video Audio Trigger Level Upper 1-bit e.g.) in case of 8-bit (0-255), the video level is 128 or over. Left channel (CH1) The setting value set by the Threshold in Audio Setup Trigger is bigger 3 times successively, It becomes ON. If it is smaller 3 times successively, it becomes Off. 19 Load Downstream EDID 1 st step By loading Sink s EDID, VA-1842 can simulate the Sink. Operation: Config button Device Config EDID Click on Load Downstream EDID If Succeeded. message appears, it is completed. This step just downloads the EDID data only. To change VA-1842 s EDID as same as Downstream Sink s EDID, refer to the next page. Loaded EDID Source Get EDID from TV Downstream TV Confirmation: Device Config EDID Edit 19

20 Load Downstream EDID 2 nd step By loading Sink s EDID, VA-1842 can simulate the Sink. After the 1 st step 1. Press Save. 2. Click around here, and keyboard appears. Select either Internal or USB. 4. Press Load. 3. After making a name, press Enter and Save. You will find a file name ****.cfg in Internal memory or USB. 20

21 Load Downstream EDID 3rd step By loading Sink s EDID, VA-1842 can simulate the Sink. After 2 nd step, you will change VA-1842 s EDID to the EDID you just saved. 1. Press Load. 2. File Load window appears. Select USB if you save it in USB. You will find a file that you saved in the previous step. Click on it. 3. Press Load. If you want to go back to previous step, press ESC/DEL button. 21

22 Change VA-1842 s EDID from Sample Operation: Config button Device Config Press LOAD 1. Press Load. 2. File Load window appears. Click on Config, then appears Sample and Compliance. Click on Sample. You will find a sample EDID list as below. Click on the sample you want to select. 3. After selecting a file, press Load 22

23 Send CEC Commands Operation: Analyze CEC Send 1. Set Initiator who sends command 2. Set Destination or Follower who receives command. 3. Select command from the list. 23

24 Generate Setting Select Timing Generate button Signal Generate window appears Click on Generate Timing. Timing can not be edit. Select timing 4K timing and 3D timing are pre-installed. Note: there is no Generate mode setting by MODE button. Set as Mode when using Generate Setting. 24

27 Repeater Mode Repeater Mode VA-1842 is emulated as a repeater device. You will be able to confirm your products performance when connecting to repeater devices. DDC, CEC line monitor function is available. 27

28 Virtual Repeater Mode Analyze HDCP Config How useful? Because HDCP may have problem when connecting with several repeater machines. By using this function, users can simulate the same situation by setting in VA-1842 only without preparing several machines in real world. Connection You can emulate connecting devices quantity here. 28

(if signal does not change, LOG can not be started to save.) 3. LOG button (green LED OFF) Finish Note: Compliance Test results are saved in LOG without pressing Start button. 30
