A satellite purchased as an RDR 16 may be turned into a RDR 50 by changing out the Decoder Module to an RDR 50. Care must be exercised when installing the frequency module to get the small pins lined up and seated properly. DECODER MODULE Dip switch settings must match settings on chart below for the satellite number Power wires are connected to board as shown (Red, Orange & Brown) DIP SWITCH SETTINGS FOR SATELLITES PDF Files/Osmac Dip Settings.pdf TO RE-INITIALIZE THE RDR SATELLITE: Remove power to the controller Using a ground strip, remove the Receiver Board from the housing Remove the protective

5 Page 5 of 11 metal cover from the eprom and jumper area Move the blue jumper from pins one and two to pins two and three Restore power, the light will flash, then and wait 30 to 60 seconds for the light to come back on Remove power and move the jumper back to pins one and two Re-assemble and restore power Re-program the pump start circuit (if applicable) MOTOROLA EPROMS Version 3.1 (no sequential syringe) Version 3.3 (bad do not use) Version 3.4 (current) Ribbon cable must be connected properly. Do not misalign pins! Failure to do so could result in permanent equipment damage! 24 VAC TRANSFORMER (Toro: NPN8010) This transformer is nonrepairable Should have lightning protection installed in the satellite to protect the transformer Each 8-out card should have a ground wire returning to this ground lug Power ground must be connected to field ground of 10 ohms or less

7 Page 7 of 11 OPTIONAL 8 STATION SURGE PROTECTION BOARD KIT (Toro: ) Each kit contains one circuit board, mounting screws, wire harness and instructions Enough to protect eight stations SURGE PROTECTION BOARD - 24 VOLT COMMON (Toro: ) This optional board provides surge protection for Pump Start and Common Wires 24 VOLT SURGE PROTECTION KIT FOR UNIVERSAL PEDESTAL PDF Files/OSMAC Surge ( ).pdf 24 VOLT SURGE PROTECTION UPDATE Use this diagram to update satellites with a Relay Disconnect for the 24 VAC common wire Purpose is to limit lightning damage exposure to the satellite This will disconnect the common wires from the RDR whenever there are no stations running.

8 Page 8 of 11 Note: an empty station on the controller is required to install this feature. Preferably an empty station on each satellite controller so that one command can be sent to activate the pump start station feature to enguage this relay. 120 VAC SURGE PROTECTOR/HANDY BOX UPDATE Use this update to provide a quick disconnect of 120 VAC and allow for a third party plug in 120 VAC surge protector. Remember to adhere to all National, State & Local codes. SPRINKLERS TURN ON AND OFF INTERMITTENT Run several stations at a time and check the power voltage at the satellite. If power into the transformer drops below 105 VAC, heads may randomly turn on and off. Check for bad splices or bad solenoids which could be creating an excessive amperage draw lowering the power voltage Check for a damaged transformer (damage by lightning or damage by excessive amperage loads) Check programming at the central computer

9 Page 9 of 11 ONE SATELLITE DOES NOT RECEIVE SIGNAL Check for 120 VAC power Send a signal and see if the red LED blinks, if it does not, check dip switch settings on Receiver Module in the satellite (are you typing the right number?) Check programming in the central for the right numbers being used Send a signal, if the red LED blinks, check for common wire relay engaging, if not send Hand held commands to: Re-enable the satellite Re-enable pump start circuit Re-enable all stations ONE SATELLITE DOES NOT RECEIVE SIGNAL (CONTINUED) If external antenna is used, check for dry and tight connections Check all fuses and wire connections Do you have the right Eprom? Check that the Frequency modules are seated in the Receiver modules properly (no bent plugs) NO SATELLITES RECEIVE SIGNALS Check for People finder turned on Check for hardware key (Not required in SITEPRO Software) Check for computer software set to DEMO or com ports not set properly Send signal from people

10 Page 10 of 11 finder, not from Hand Held radios to make sure hand helds are working Check all antenna connections from People finder to base antenna Tight connections are important Connections must be completely dry Check for a blinking light at satellite when a signal is sent Check for properly set dip switch settings in satellites Check that the Frequency modules are seated in the Receiver modules properly (no bent plugs) MAINTENANCE GENERAL CLEANING and MAINTENANCE Clean all circuit boards with compressed air, remove spider webs and other forms of debris, Insert a new bug strip, check and install foam sealant in sweep ells into concrete, check all ribbon cable connections, tighten all screwed and bolted connections, check and/or replace all fuses. DECODER CARD Reinitialize satellite (at owners discretion), Simulate peak load and test power supply output on draw down, check battery (if present), Check eprom version and record, Check FCC Frequency. STATION OUTPUTS Check station output amperage draw (with load) and voltage draw, ohm readings and record results, work all output switches (if present), work all external relays, run test all 24 volt outputs
