2 A reliable and futureproof Dark Fiber ring executed redundantly with competitive pricing: in 2015, this is the specification that asked various market players to quote for. In Relined Fiber Network s case, this was (and is) a question it is often asked, and one for which it is happy to devise solutions jointly with the customer. An appropriate solution was accordingly devised for based on the latter s specific needs and wishes, this ultimately resulting in the creation of a reliable network and all the flexibility needed to migrate connections. Relined s proposal offered us quality at a competitive price. Prior to this, Relined had already submitted a clearly written implementation plan to us that considered all the possible scenarios. This gave us a lot of confidence in them. Not for nothing was the tender awarded to Relined. Regional training centre is the regional training centre in the tri-city area encompassed by Apeldoorn, Deventer and Zutphen that offers courses in MBO (senior secondary vocational education), adult education and company training. Its two hundred courses and 1,000 staff make the largest education and training course provider in this tri-city area. Relined constructed a completely separate fibre optic ring between s main locations in Apeldoorn, Deventer and Zutphen that its other locations that sit behind the main location are connected to. was looking for a party that could offer not only reliability but flexibility too, both during the contractual period and for the relocation of connections. 4 We provided a set-up for the network that is designed to meet its needs for the long term too. However, you can t foresee all the future developments that are going to happen, which is why flexibility continues to be an important attribute of the network. We can only achieve this by really providing useful creative input for the customer s challenges and wishes and by responding optimally to these, says Guido Sip, Manager Sales & Marketing at Relined. Once the project had been awarded, it also became clear that wanted to start using the SURFnet PoP at the Saxion University of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Deventer as the fall-back location for a redundant SURFnet connection. This location was not on-net yet for but hadn t been included in the survey of the desired connections either. Luckily, since Relined supplies many connections for SURFnet including within the Saxion UAS this request could be responded to right away. This also turned out to provide important added value in the solution offered! Ambitious delivery period At first, the delivery period requested by appeared to be very ambitious. Not impossible to achieve but it was true to say that a very tight schedule with little room for setbacks would have to be kept to if the deadline was
