Protect: Develop and implement the appropriate safeguards to ensure delivery of critical infrastructure services. Detect: Develop and implement the appropriate activities to identify the occurrence of a cybersecurity event. Recover: Develop and implement the appropriate activities to maintain plans for resilience and to restore any capabilities or services that were impaired due to a cybersecurity event. 1 (16.7%) 1 (13.3%) 2 (13.3%) 2 (10.0%) 2 (46.7%) 5 (46.7%) 4 (56.7%) 5 (66.7%) 9 (33.3%) 6 (36.7%) 5 (26.7%) 5 (20.0%) 2 (3.3%) 2 (3.3%) 3 (3.3%) 2 (3.3%) This table compares how employers and educational partners view the preparation of students in various categories based on the NIST framework (the employers ratings are in percentages underneath the educational partners numbers). While both groups gave very few excellent marks, the employers were more likely to give poor or fair marks for many of the categories. This indicates some discrepancy between the two groups in terms of the perceived preparation of local students for the cybersecurity workforce. 9
