Against this backdrop, broadband access is set to become the new utility service, and Smart Cities such as Johannesburg are seeing collaboration between the public and private sectors to improve service delivery of essential utilities including the provision of affordable technology to all its citizens. BrightWave Technologies (Pty) Ltd is 100% empowered new age specialist metro broadband network and access service provider that is focused on building broadband infrastructure for the Smart Cities of tomorrow. Our aim is to build infrastructure that allows for the delivery of high speed broadband access and services that are available and affordable to the majority. It is our deep-seated belief that knowledge and communication should be accessible to everyone. Products Public Access Wi-Fi BrightWave has partnered with a digital media company, allowing us to provide free Wi-Fi in public places, which are subject to broadcasting of adverts at certain intervals during the user s connection. The service is available at all hotspots and within any of the BrightWave coverage areas. BrightWave has also partnered with City Parks, in extending this service to parks in Soweto, and within the CBD of Johannesburg. Home Connect BrightWave s premium service in Soweto is to provide a residential Wi-Fi solution to the residents of Soweto. This is a paid for service, with competitive pricing, whereby Soweto households are able to have their own private Wi-Fi in the comfort of their homes.

Strategic Partnerships University of Johannesburg Soweto Campus In what is considered a first of its kind, BrightWave has entered into a partnership with the University of Johannesburg (UJ) - Soweto Campus and has successfully deployed an end-to-end network service that offers broadband access and connectivity for uninterrupted learning, from the UJ Soweto campus grounds to anywhere within the BrightWave network. BrightWave has also deployed hotspots to most of the UJ-registered private residences, offering connectivity to UJ students on and off campus. Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital An agreement has been reached between BrightWave and Chris Hani Baragwanath to roll out Wi-Fi at one of the largest hospitals in the world, namely Baragwanath Hospital. BrightWave has to-date deployed Wi-Fi in the waiting area and the doctor s rooms, and the second phase is to provide Wi-Fi to the entire hospital which covers over 700 square metres. Zahavi Properties BrightWave has partnered with one of the leading property management companies in Johannesburg, to deploy an apartment Wi-Fi solution to the residents of their numerous properties which are located within Berea, Hillbrow and Johannesburg CBD. CityProp BrightWave is at the initial stages of deploying an apartment Wi-Fi solution for one of the largest property management companies in Tshwane. The initial roll-out is currently under way in the Pretoria CBD. City Parks BrightWave is part of the CoJ City Parks initiative of providing Wi-Fi at some parks in Johannesburg. In light of the current Wi-Fi coverage in Soweto, BrightWave has been assigned to provide Wi-Fi in numerous parks in Soweto including the following: Dorothy Nyembe Noordgesig Park Diepkloof Extreme Park Pimvile Extreme Park Awella Park Green Church Zola Eco Park Orlando West Park Elmon Malele Park Tladi Park

B2B Services BrightWave offers wholesale last mile access network services to existing ISPs, cellular providers, cable TV providers, VoIP and content providers, as well as Smart City solution providers, who will look to leverage the access network to expand their reach and customer base, improve profit margins and extend scope of services. The central strategy is premised on the use of a fibre optic network all the way to clients premises (Fibre-To-The-Premises or FTTP) to deliver high speed internet and network solutions right to our clients doorsteps.
