11 AIE s priorities for Energy - Monitor the implementation of EU Directives: Energy Performance Buildings Directive and the Energy End-use efficiency and energy services Directive - Ensure a level playing field for electrical contractors and promote the electrical contractors as energy advisers - AIE is member of the European Photovoltaic Technology Platform to define a strategic agenda towards 2030 and stimulate the Building Integration of photovoltaïcs example of Japan - AIE is member of the European Construction Technology Platform: Energy efficient Buildings - Participation in Energy Efficient Projects such as Energy efficient street and office lighting

12 AIE s priorities for Smart Houses and HBES - Time has come that the integration of smart technology in homes is feasible (drivers: entertainment elderly energy efficiency): technology new skills new opportunities & markets - Encourage cooperation in the sector as to develop tools and raise awareness towards customers, specifiers and installers Development of a Pan-European Smart House Qualification scheme for Companies Development of technical solutions for AIE members AIE member of CENELEC ICT Smart House Standardisation Committee

13 AIE s priorities for Standardisation and Safety Electrical safety: draft a Recommendation for periodic verification of existing domestic electrical installations for submission to the EC in Autumn Standardisation: Monitoring European Directives such as: the EMC Directive, the Machinery Directive, the Low Voltage Directive Cooperating partner of CENELEC and member of different TC s in CENELEC and IEC
