2 Who we are T&D Europe aims at promoting the common technical, industrial, economic and environmental point of view of the European electricity transmission and distribution manufacturing and product derived solutions industry. T&D Europe was created in 2008 by the merger of two European committees: CAPIEL HV and COTREL. Its members are all the relevant European national associations and companies from the T&D sector. These companies account for a production worth over 25 billion, and employ over 200,000 people in Europe.

3 Scope T&D Europe is a driver for advanced solutions and technologies in the field of electricity networks, encouraging an energy- and cost-efficient as well as an environmentally friendly infrastructure. The scope of T&D Europe encompasses equipment, systems and services for the network of electricity transmission and distribution in high and medium voltage - from generation to consumption. T&D Europe members provide the full range of grid technologies, including advanced, smart systems suitable for interaction with renewable energies and ICT (Information & Communication Technologies).

4 T&D Europe covers all installed equipment, products and systems as well as services required for operations on electrical transmission and distribution networks or electrical installation in infrastructures, industry and buildings. T&D Europe works in co-operation with European and international standardisation bodies, in order to establish a coherent system of worldwide standards and testing.

5 Activities Activities of T&D Europe include: monitoring of regulatory, economic and technical developments at European level of interest to T&D Europe; dissemination of information among members, maintaining a close link with the European institutions and other stakeholders; promotion of the T&D industry, its expertise in leading technologies and its contribution to the European economy.
