2 2017/2018 Deliverables Delivers Patient Level Information and Costing Systems Implementation of ECDS PAS Upgrade and implement additional Medway suite of products Relaunch Vocera e-learning roll out Service Provider Lists Roll out Review and implement business continuity plans Integrate NHIS within SFH End user remote access Implement Refreshed LAN and Wireless Cyber Security Assurance programme NHSMail deployment Bluespier localisation Patient Wi-fi PLICS - deploys a tool that enables analysis of patient level cost information and reference cost data. The review of existing reporting requirements of the trust understanding the needs for effective decision making. Emergency Dataset is a mandatory requirement introduced by NHS England that had penalties attached for non-conformance. The Health and Portal provides clinicians with an overall view of a patients healthcare records across the health community. This will include data from NUH, Notts Healthcare Trust, GP records and social care. The upgrade of Medway to version 4.8 and BI 4.8.2, providing new functionality and fixes to current problems. Trialing of Clinical documentation and the production of a plan to ensure upgrades are conducted on an ongoing basis. This will see the replacement of old Vocera devices and provide the capability to use Vocera on mobile devices, providing secure collaboration including text messaging. The use of e-learning for training in clinical applications so clinicians can do the training required at a time suitable to them. Service Provider lists is a component of Sunquest ICE which is used for managing electronic requests and results. This functionality is being implemented across the trust to allow inter-consultant referrals minimising risks associated with paper referrals. This project provides electronic connectivity between SFH and Notts County Council improving communications to support patient flow and prevent unnecessary admissions. Review of the existing business continuity plans for SFH services. An extensive review was conducted post WannaCry to ensure business continuity plans were updated as a result of any lessons learned. Consideration of the closer alignment of NHIS with SFH to provide integrated working. The provision of an enhanced security solution for end users accessing the network remotely. The implementation of a state of the art wireless network to provide increased connectivity and additional capacity. Analysis and consultation in relation to the overall disaster recovery capabilities on the KMH site. The output of this has been built into the new datacentre design to ensure mirror image resilience and off site resilience capabilities. BT were awarded a 5 year contract to replace and upgrade the existing Community of Interest Network. This Network allows secure access to all national NHS systems, N3, the internet and the NHIS datacentre. Proactive replacement of aging PC s and Laptops across the SFH to provide PC s with better processing power. This focuses on enhanced security of networks and systems, including the monitoring of a number of Cyber Security KPI s to ensure system resilience could be maintained against any future Cyber-attacks. A review of the opportunities for Microsoft licensing to mitigate the risk of unsupported operating systems existing within the health community. Migration of all existing accounts from Microsoft Exchange (2003) to a standard NHS mail solution. Moving of the Theatres system from being hosted in the NUH datacentre to the NHIS datacentre to reduce costs and to improve performance. This replaced the previous solution of VitalPAC with NerveCentre on all adult inpatient wards across the trust. It provides additional functionality in the delivery of automatic escalations, electronic handover and task management for Hospital@Night. The implementation of a secure Wi-Fi solution that patients and staff can connect to.

3 2018/2019 Deliverables Delivers Theatres PAS Interoperability Winpath replacement options Business Case for e-prescribing Further delivery of reporting requirements of the trust ensuring the information needs for effective decision making. To provide interoperability between PAS and theatres, which will remove the need for manual intervention when theatre lists are amended or cancelled. Winpath (Version 5) is the main pathology system. This is no longer being actively developed, and Clinisys (the supplier) have made an announcement regarding the sunset of this system. It is anticipated that most trusts by the end of 2019 will no longer be using WInpath version 5. The Winpath Enterprise Solution which is likely to be the replacement solution allows flexible communication with analysers and third party systems, HL7 feeds etc. It also provides Integrated support for the Cancer Registry Data Extracts (COSD), which is currently not provided with Winpath version 5 and integration with path manager for easy extraction of statistical data and the ability to run real time dashboards to show the status of urgent work to minimise risks to patients. The proactive assessment of the clinical applications in use across SFH will provide reduction in the number of systems and a consolidated approach to the existing application landscape. e-prescribing is a system for the recording and tracking of inpatient medications. There is a national mandate for the NHS to be paperless by 2020 and therefore there is a mandatory requirement for e-prescribing to be implemented. E-Prescribing will also minimise risk to patient safety in inappropriate, incorrect or missed prescribing or administration, with associated financial and reputational risk. It will also minimise delayed prescribing for discharge delays, flow, causing knock on impact in admissions and revenue generation. Orion is the SFH portal solution. A major upgrade of this solution is being performed to enable the solution to provide access to GP data and integrate other systems into the portal, removing the need to have multiple logons. Outpatient Check in The replacement and extended roll out of patient check in to allow patients to check in for outpatient appointments electronically. This will see the replacement of the current clinical correspondence solution which combines Winscribe Digial dictation workflow with EPRO document editor for creating clinic letters. It will also the foundations for Winscribe to be integrated into the Orion portal removing the need for separate logons. SystmOne ED information capture To provide the ability to collect patient information electronically in ED, replacing the need for some of the paper records. Sunquest ICE Upgrade Upgrade to the existing Sunquest ICE solution to provide the ability to request and review results on mobile devices CDA ITK standard for e-discharges FHIR There is a national standard for the production of letters from acute trusts. Letters need to be produced into a new format called FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) to enable systems to phase2 Further work on the electronic messaging between SFH and Notts County Council, seeing referrals to social care occurring electronically between the systems. New SLA s for Partners and Customers New SLA s aligned to the service delivery NHIS provide for partner organisations. Commercial model refresh Assessment of the NHIS commercial model to ensure financial viability. Account Creation Tool The provision of a tool to automatically create Active Directory Accounts (to logon to the network). Currently these are created manually and can be time consuming. Mobile Devices A new mobile device contract has been agreed providing reduced costs for the provision of mobile devices. Ongoing proactive replacement of aging PC s and Laptops across the SFH to provide PC s with better processing power. Implement Primary Datacentre Refresh Datacentre Backup Technology Refresh Implementation of a new datacentre solution that provides a mirror image of data from Core 1 into Core 2, with the addition of offsite resilience at Duncan Macmillan House. As above.

4 Upgrade of operating systems (MS Licensing) EMRAD Localisation Medcon Deployment fusion Deployment Digital Health Records (EDMS storage and scanning NerveCentre Bed Management Diamond.Net Infoflex IDB To replace the operating systems currently in place that are provided under the national (expired) Microsoft Enterprise Wide Agreement. The EMRAD localisation will see the implementation of storage for images occurring in the NHIS data centre, providing an improvement to the retrieval of images and additional resilience. The replacement of software in use in the Cardio catheter suite that has a dependency upon Windows XP, which is an extended supported Microsoft Operating System. Fusion is medical equipment used within the respiratory service for the likes of lung function tests. There was a dependency on the use of Windows XP for the use of the old solution, which is now being replaced with a later version. The investigation and deployment of a solution for the scanning of patient paper records to support the achievement of paperless at the point of care. The implementation of NerveCente bed management across the trust, enabling a clear view across the trust of the bed state and pressures on the trust. The implementation of an IT solution for Diabetes care. Provides the ability to complete mandatory returned electronically. The implementation of an IT solution to Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Provides the ability to complete mandatory returned electronically.
