Sept Jun In this role, I was responsible for: The design, planning and deployment of a converged IP/MPLS core network for the provisioning of fixed and mobile data and voice services. The transformation of the fixed access network from a legacy fixed access network to a modern NGN fixed access network. The introduction of value added IP services to increase the product portfolio and revenue from the provisioning of Internet services. Deployed an IP/MPLS core network spanning across 42 sites countrywide and within the Accra-Tema metropolis. Delivered 50,000 ADSL ports, an and web-hosting platform for the Internet business unit. Successfully deployed the pilot fixed network transformation project covering 14 cabinets in the Cantonments and Accra-North Exchange areas. Head/Data Services Department Ghana Telecom Co. Ltd. Oct Aug I was responsible for the operation, administration and maintenance of the data services networks that included the IP/MPLS, ADSL, Dialup, ATM and frame relay networks. 2

3 Successfully grew the ADSL service network from an Accra-Tema metropolis based service of approximately 800 subscribers to a network covering Accra- Tema and the nine other regional capital cities serving 21,000 subscribers. Designed and implemented changes in GT s IP/MPLS network to improve availability to enable the business unit offer enterprise products with up to 99.5% availability. Designed and implemented the Barclays WAN covering the head office, a disaster recovery site and 60 Barclays branch offices in all 10 regions of the country over GTs IP/MPLS network infrastructure. Redesigned and implemented a new IP services network and systems, this included the implementation of a new billing system for the ADSL service. Technical Consultant, GT-ISP Project Ghana Telecom Co. Ltd. Aug Oct I was responsible for the operation, administration and maintenance of the data services networks that included the ADSL, Dialup, ATM and frame relay networks. Built technical capacities of staff in the ISP department to enable them take over the operation, administration and maintenance of the ADSL network that at the time was being operated and maintained by Siemens. Designed and implemented operational procedures for provisioning of ADSL services. Deputy Director, R&D Network Computer Systems Ltd. Jun Aug I was responsible for the research into new technologies and its application to systems for enterprise customers. My role also involved managing the delivery of enterprise systems to corporate organizations. Setup and managed the equipment required to provide Internet services for 21 st Century Technologies, an Internet service provider in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. Successfully managed the capacity upgrade and data migration of Ghana Telecoms Customer Management and Billing System (CMBS) for the fixed voice service. This was done in partnership with Detecon International GmbH (the ICT consulting wing of Deutsche Telekom Group). 3

4 Deputy Director, Software Dev. Network Computer Systems Ltd. Nov Jun I was responsible for software development and delivery of enterprise systems to corporate organizations. Setup and supported a Frame Relay/TDM/ATM system (FastNet) for providing leased data circuits to organizations requiring connectivity for building WANs or for high speed dedicated Internet services. This was achieved in partnership with the vendors of the deployed equipment, Newbridge (UK). Setup the system and network infrastructure for deploying Ghana Telecoms Customer Management & Billing System. This was achieved in partnership with Detecon International GmbH (the ICT consulting wing of Deutsche Telekom Group). Setup and managed the equipment required to provide Internet services for Quantum Associates, an Internet service provider in, Banjul, Gambia. Setup of Internet access service and electronic mail systems for various enterprise customers, notably including Ghana Telecom, Bank of Ghana, Ashanti Goldfields Company Ltd., University of Ghana, Legon and Taysec Construction Company Ltd. Manager, Software Dev Network Computer Systems Ltd. Apr Nov I was a member of a team responsible for software development and delivery of enterprise systems to corporate organizations. Setup the equipment required to provide Internet services for Acumen Consulting Group, Inc, an ICT company in Marlboro, Massachusetts USA. Developed the order entry module of an Order entry & Asset Tracking system for Chemical Leman Tank Lines (A fortune 500 Company in the US). Member of the team that setup the first Internet Service in Ghana. Involvement in ICT Policy in Ghana Member of the proposed National Information Technology Agency (NITA) of Ghana formed in September NITA is an agency tasked with the responsibility of developing and formulating an Information and Communication Technology policy for the Government of Ghana. I was involved as a facilitator in the section of the policy dealing with Internet and value-added services. I was also responsible for facilitating communication between the various groups of the agency. 4

5 Involved in the National Information Technology Policy Roundtable discussions in August 2001 leading to the formulation of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA).
