Name was changed from Region 1 & 3 Safety Organization to in the mid 90 s. Has continued to grow over the years. Today Consists of more than 120 members representing about 75 sites, over 85 plants / 30 Companies in North America, including US and Canada.

Aids in promoting and maintaining consistency and strength in the area of Industrial Health and Safety throughout the nuclear industry.

Meet twice per year in conference format, sharing experiences and ideas. 7 Charter Objective The objective of the Nuclear Industrial Safety and Health Association is to provide a forum for the equitable exchange of information and ideas concerning all topics relative to industrial safety at nuclear power plants for the mutual assistance and benefit of all.
8 Specific Objectives In the interest of addressing and resolving common issues and problems, specific objectives shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Conduct regular meetings for the mutual benefit of all participants. Provide a clearinghouse for the sharing and dissemination of information of interest to all participants.
9 Specific Objectives Establish communication channels between all Nuclear Power plant industrial safety and health personnel and organizations such as: INPO (Institute of Nuclear Power Operations) WANO (World Association of Nuclear Operators) NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute) NEI (Nuclear Energy Institute) O
10 Conferences Participation is open to all nuclear power plants located within the United States, Canada and others as approved by the membership. Participation i i is limited i to professionals directly responsible for relevant aspects of nuclear power plant industrial safety, health and industrial hygiene. Guests may participate in the conference proceedings as approved by the Conference Committee and Chairman.
11 Conferences Conferences shall be conducted twice annually, with one conference scheduled in the Spring/Summer (Late June/July), and one in the winter (January). Conference location shall be rotated among the member nuclear utilities.
