4 AFL HYPERSCALE, CONNECTED On May 8th 2018, we completed our transformation into a globally unified organization, AFL Hyperscale, concluding the combination of NetIG of Seattle WA. USA and FibreFab of Milton Keynes, UK and endowing the new union with the mission to create optimized connectivity solutions driven by innovation. NetIG and FibreFab began working together in 2015, bringing together 70 years combined design and manufacturing expertize between us. The joint-venture has had much success, and we ve enabled our hyperscale and colocation data center partners to accelerate faster across their technology roadmaps, allowing them to scale their networks at a rapid pace and to grow faster than they previously considered possible. The key to this success has been our collaborative, unified team, that listens to and understands what the customer is looking to achieve, combined with our capability to deliver responsive, innovative, and scalable end-to-end network connectivity solutions anywhere in the world. With our increasing visibility in the market place, bringing us together as AFL Hyperscale enables our customers to grow and interact with one unified business, collaborate with us to enter new markets and countries, whilst empowering us to deliver a more customer-centric service. 6 AFL HYPERSCALE INDIA: OPEN FOR BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT ON INDIA India has a population of 1.34 Billion people 50% of the population below the age of 25 years old 7th largest country in the world, 3.1 Million sq km 06 Working alongside AFL, AFL Hyperscale now has a presence in the heart of the Indian Silicon Valley, Bengaluru. Currently the 7th largest economy in the world, India is set to have the 3rd largest by With one of the worlds fastest growing economies, the data center market is currently experiencing huge growth, growing at an impressive 20% per year. Main drivers for this growth include recent deregulation of telecommunication laws and policies, that have led to rapid growth in local network services, and long-distance connectivity between urban areas. This in turn has led to an increase in growth to support data services, and digital devices. Colocation data centers in particular, are growing at an unprecedented rate. This is driven by enterprise customers migrating to them because of zero capital investment, scalable infrastructure, high operational efficiency and reliability. Also global hyperscale operators are using colocation space to expand their footprint and capitalize on Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). A larger focus on cloud, analytics and mobility is expected to make IaaS more common than traditional data center outsourcing within the next few years. Many key verticals including banking, finance and insurance, are highly regulated in India. For security and regulatory reasons, many verticals are unwilling to host their data in a data center that is out of the country. As a result this is forcing more and more data center providers to setup their own data centers in India. 8 CONSTRUCTION PRODUCT REGULATION (CPR) ONE YEAR ON On 1st of July 2018, new Construction Product Regulation (CPR) will have been in place for one year. We look back at how the regulations have developed over the past 12 months and where they will likely be heading. It is worth remembering the European Union (EU) created the Construction Product Regulation (CPR) (EU/305/2011) to provide a method to classify materials used for the construction of buildings for key properties including reaction to fire. The EU included cable (Power, Control and Communication Cables) into the CPR to provide a consistent set of methods to test cables for their reaction to fire. The classification method for reaction to fire of cables is detailed in EN and has 183 variants for cable from A to F. The full classification has a main class Aca to Fca (the ca refers to cable) and the classes B1ca, B2ca, Cca and Dca have additional classes for smoke, flaming droplets, and acid gas. Flames and Heat: Aca to Fca Smoke: s1a, s1b, s1, s2, s3 Flaming droplets: d0, d1, d2 Acid gas: a1, a2, a3 The EU requires the reaction to fire cable test to be certified by an EU approved test house (NANDO) in order for the cable to be classified with a Euroclass and be eligible for CE marking. The CE marking is required for cables placed on the market for incorporation in a permanent manner in construction works (buildings and civil engineering works) or parts thereof and the performance of which has an effect on the performance of the construction works with respect to the basic requirements for construction works in the EU. The EU to date does not specify which EuroClass is to be used for different applications and each country member can decide if they will include EuroClass for cable into its national regulations, and also if a different minimum EuroClass will be used for different applications. France, Germany, and the UK have not included EuroClass for cables in their regulation although the UK National Standards organization BSI, have provided guidance in BS 6701, and Netherlands, with NEN Some countries have no regulation or national standard. France for instance, commonly refer to a document produced by a manufacturer s organization, whilst Germany has a local survey. In some cases the EuroClass can be dictated by other factors such as building insurance. At AFL Hyperscale we are actively surveying the EU countries for cable EuroClass included in national regulations and/or local guidance standards and/or local surveys in order to help our customers make the right choice. In relation to assemblies of cable and connectors, these are not included in the CPR and is not eligible for CE marking, however we do provide a range of certified cables with a EuroClass (B2ca to Eca) we can provide with a Decleration of Performance (DoP). AFL Hyperscale is constantly updating and improving its range of cables for our customers to meet the EuroClass requirements of regulations, local standards or local surveys of EU countries. 08

10 WHAT IS THE ULTRA-HIGH FIBER COUNT (UHFC) SOLUTION? Whether the building is a hyperscale site or a colocation facility, fiber is routed from the entry room to internal distribution areas. From here, it is spliced or patched to internal cabling and routed to the next switching or distribution point where the process repeats to reach the computing resources inside the site. By using SWR based high density cabling products, outside cabling that previously consisted of dozens or hundreds of smaller count fiber cables can be replaced by a small number of high density cables containing thousands of fibers inside a few square inches (several 10s of square centimeters). A related offering of high density internal cabling allows the intra-connection of an entire building with a fraction of today s required cable count. The following shows how the Solution can be implemented in a typical large co-location offering. The Ultra-High Fiber Count (UHFC) solution is the answer to your evolving data center network, providing interconnection between and within data center buildings on a scale, never seen before. ENI-01 The increase in customer demand for more cloud, internet and IoT services has caused providers to expand their data center networks, usually in regional clusters that contain multiple data centers and offer a wide-range of services and service provider connections. 14 AFL Hyperscale Bulletin 1: GDPR WHAT IS GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION? (GDPR) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has a global impact and applies to any organization, anywhere in the world that processes the personal data of European Union (EU) citizens. GDPR is the first legal framework dedicated to the protection of EU citizens data in 20 years and directly applicable in all EU Member States. The new legislation replaces the previous Directive 95/46/EC, and came into force on 25 May THE KEY PRINCIPLES ARE: All businesses are subject to GDPR regardless of whether they are located in the EU or anywhere else in the world if they handle the data of EU residents All EU residents are protected WHAT IS COVERED? PERSONAL DATA: Any data that can identify an individual either separately or combined : for example a name, or a name plus date of birth. SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF DATA: Sensitive data about a person. For example: race, ethnic origin, political opinion, religion, trade union membership, genetics, biometrics (where used for ID purposes), health, sex life or sexual orientation. Under GDPR rules, the business (processor or controller) must conduct due diligence and be prepared to demonstrate that the data is kept for valid reasons. Processing is the act of obtaining, recording, holding or using personal data Data Controller is a person or organization that decides how personal data is processed. 16 AFL HYPERSCALE COMMUNITY Well done to Andrew Thomas for participating in the charity golf event representing our company for the Rae Rae trust. We sponsored this event with 450 which went towards the charity and the golf shirts which featured our company logo. Help 16 RAE RAE TRUST GOLF DAY: 11th May 2018 Andrew did well on the day and won the round of golf with his partner beating the Axe and Compass charity. The Rae Rae trust is a local charity set up to give terminally ill children there last wish, well worth the cause and a big thank you to Andrew and the trust for making it a great event. THE HENRY ALLEN TRUST 28th March 2018 Team Henry to spread some of Henry s Happiness at Easter to Children and Families Battling Childhood Cancers in Hospitals at Easter. Every egg donated was passed on to a child in our local hospitals. The Henry Allen Trust was set up in memory of 4yr old Henry after he lost his battle against High Risk Neuroblastoma on the 20th October Team Henry fundraise to provide vital special memories for families dealing with childhood cancer and assist families upon diagnosis. EARTH DAY, US 21th April 2018 AFL Hyperscale employees kindly volunteered to help the city of Kent, US with their Earth Day event. Employees became part of the world s largest environmental movement in Kent, The Green Kent Partnership and helped to celebrate Earth Day in Riverview Park by removing invasive blackberry species and spreading mulch to help prevent their return. HODGE LEA, MEETING PLACE 14th April 2018 The area is currently being updated for locals to have an area/meeting place in their local community for families. New fencing around the community hall garden in Wolverton was put in place by a group of staff volunteers for local families to enjoy the area.

17 THAMES VALLEY AIR AMBULANCE 21st March 2018 Volunteers Choose Grant for Your fundraising will help ensure that our experienced doctor and paramedic crews will be able to reach our community within minutes, ready to deliver advanced life-saving critical care that you would normally find only in a hospital A&E department. Thanks to people like you we have been able to make huge developments in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine. Our teams have at their fingertips the latest life support kit such as a compact chest compressor which allows us to continue treatment at the same time as keeping the heart pumping. We carry blood on board for on scene transfusions and a hospital level blood analyser which can give vital information in seconds. We have hand held ultrasound machines, able to show internal injuries at the roadside. In the last few years TVAA have extended the service by introducing a car as well as a brandnew helicopter, fully equipped for night operations. With your help, we are proud to be an organisation that is committed to constant development and enhancement and above all else, we are committed to patient care. MK SNAP 20th March 2018 The raised beds we built for SNAP will be used by the learners to plant and grow fruit and vegetables and will go along way in helping them develop skills outside in the garden. MK SNAP were overwhelmed by the amount we got done in one day KIDS OUT CHARITY 5th-7th February 2018 I want to say a huge thank you to the teams who supported the project on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. All of your employees worked tirelessly with the first team and second team auditing and sorting thousands of toys in preparation for Wednesdays team who helped pack 150 age appropriate toy boxes for our youngest and oldest ages that are being sent out to children who have been displaced as a result of domestic abuse, who have little to no toys or possessions. We could not have achieved this without your help, with only 3 members of staff working on this project. Many thanks for organising and for so successfully supporting KidsOut s mission to provide fun and happiness for children and young people living in difficult and challenging circumstances. WINTER NIGHT SHELTER 24th January was raised for the Winter Night Shelter in Milton Keynes through the staff Christmas raffle, with half donated to the Night Shelter and half donated to the MK Soup Run. Both companies will benefit from the funds raised helping the homeless within Milton Keynes which has seen an increase again since last year. So far this season the Winter Night Shelter have placed 15 people in longer accommodation and housing up to 25 per night in their temporary accommodation. Jack was very grateful for the donation. 17
