3 Motivation in the past no central repository for metadata/data different view concerning one and the same variable (e.g. current activity status) no standardised metadata management (what kind of metadata, what format, ) difficult data exchange between units (due to lack of harmonisation, change of the data structure,..) solution statistical datawarehouse (sdwh) internal, house-wide, easy accessible centralized platform harmonisation and standardisation of metadata/data instance for data dissemination and visualisation slide 3 11 April 2018

4 Project details sdwh project was established in 2014 big picture rough plan of the sdwh focus on metadata management technical solution was fixed in 2015 self developed solution with common in-house standard components (DB2 database + Java Application) 1. trial stage with prototype of the sdwh in summer 2016 implementation of test-user suggestions 2. trial stage in spring 2017 start of the distribution in April slide 4 11 April 2018

5 Link to GSIM model data concept within sdwh is based on GSIM model currently five information objects are covered by the sdwh product dimensional data set dimensional data structure represented variable instance variable administrative register (coming soon) number of embedded information objects will increase because of further developments slide 5 11 April 2018
