Databases are used to store, manipulate and retrieve data in nearly every type of organisation, including business, health care, education and government. This module provides the student with a solid foundation in database systems for business applications. Learning Outcomes On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to: LO1 LO2 LO3 LO4 LO5 Explain the role of database systems in the business environment Explain the concepts and processes involved in database development. Develop a data model for a business application Design a database for a business application Create a database application to store and retrieve data.
