1 Two-Sided Printers Instructions for Printing the Addendum to Graduate Leadership, Third Edition in Book Form The file you downloaded is designed to be printed as a book. The inside margins are 1.5 inches to allow for a binder. The page numbers are facing outside of each page. If your printer prints 2-sided, simply print the file and place it in a binder to have the addendum resemble a book. One-Sided Printers If your printer only prints on one side of a sheet of paper, you will need to print the odd numbered pages, then put that paper back into the printer hopper and print the even numbered pages on the reverse side of the paper. However, printing on both sides is a different technique depending on whether your one-sided printer prints on the paper facing up or facing down. If your printer prints on the top side of the paper, see the instructions below for printing with a one-sided printer that prints on the side of the paper facing up. If your printer prints on the bottom side of the paper, see the instructions below for printing with a one-sided printer that prints on the side of the paper facing down. A quick test is to simply place a big X with a pen on the top side of the first sheet in your paper tray. Then just print page 1. If the paper that comes out has printing over the X, your printer prints on the side of the paper facing up. If the print is on the opposite side of the X you drew, your printer prints on the side of the paper facing down. 1

The page numbers are facing outside of each page The file is 300 pixels per inch, which is good quality images, great quality that comes in your textbooks makes the files very large. The file is in X1A format which preserves colors better for color laser printers. Step 1: Download the 81MB file. Depending on your browser and settings, the file may download, or try to open in a new browser window, if that occurs, be patient as the entire 81MB must download before you will see the pdf file. Step 2: Open the file in Adobe Reader, print just the odd pages. This will print pages 1,3,5 and so forth. Step 3: Set page 97 aside. Since there is no page 98, you will not want to put it back in the paper tray. Step 4: Place the odd pages you printed face down in your printer. This will place page 95 as the uppermost page, but page 95 is facing down. Below that, page 93 is facing down and so forth. You won t see the odd numbered, printed pages. You are putting the printed side face down in your hopper. Back side of page 85 2

3 Step 5: Print the even numbered pages, and select the option that indicates reverse pages. This will print page 96 on the back of page 95, page 94 on the back of page 93 and so forth. 3
