2 Compix Media LCG5000 Series T he Compix Media VideoCG LCG5000 system provides (LCG5000R) broadcast quality, live on-air capabilities and operational logic. It allows users to instantly insert characters over a live video feed. The VideoCG LCG5000 can also be used in a post production capacity, inserting characters over edited video streams. The Compix Media LCG5000 also includes a port for an optional SDI output daughter card. The optional SDI card allows Serial Digital Interface output. With a built-in, 256 transparency levels, downstream linear alpha keyer the VideoCG LCG5000 can be inserted into both systems with and without switchers. Titles can be snapped instantly on to a video feed, even without an expensive video switcher. Compix Media VideoCG LCG5000 series provide broadcast quality composite, Y/C (S-Video) and SDI Output (with optional SDI Daughter Card, MSRP $1,495) connections. All Compix Media VideoCG systems and kits come with Compix Media GenCG, our easy to use character generation software. GenCG has a recognizable Microsoft Windows like interface. GenCG is dual operation software, meaning that you can run a program and edit another at the same time. It uses your Windows Language settings and fonts, giving you multilingual support and unlimited font styles capability. LCG5000 systems come with a complete complement of software and accessories. The systems come standard with Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition operating system (Windows 2000 Pro/Windows XP available at additional cost), 4000 True Type Fonts CD, Background CD, Texture CD, and Photo Objects CD. We also include a full copy of Compix Media GenPlay for animation importing (MSRP $295), and Remote Create/Edit Software (RCES) (MSRP $295). LCG5000R model comes equipped with an industrial strength 19 inch aluminum rack mount case and internal 250 MB Zip Drive. LCG5000Ds come in a standard PC desktop mid-tower case. Both models are, centered around the Compix Media VideoCG Plus board (Compix Media Character Generator Hardware). Text Generation & Editing Creating colorful, attention-getting characters to relay your messages are made easy with GenCG software. GenCG uses the Microsoft Windows Fonts folder, giving you a virtually unlimited number of anti-aliased true type fonts to chose from. Color and texture schemes can be saved in the Catalog bar for convenient repeated use. Multilingual Character Generation Compix Media GenCG software uses the Microsoft Windows language setting to give you the ability to display many different languages supported by Microsoft Windows. Roll and crawl speeds can be adjusted on the fly with the plus and minus keys on your numeric keypad. Bulletin Board Application Compix Media VideoCG systems running GenCG software can be used in a bulletin board application. With features like, background insertion, indefinite loop, and the aforementioned transition effects, Compix Media GenCG makes a powerful, professional, bulletin board system. The Compix Media Scheduler Suite (optional software MSRP $295) make bulletin board applications more hassle free than ever before. Static Graphic/Logo Import You can easily import and display static graphic images and logos (BMP, JPG, and TGA) files. Once imported, you can then stretch and scale to various different sizes. GenCG supports 32 bit targa (TGA) files with alpha channel for graphics with 256 levels of transparency. Dual Operation Ideal for live on-air applications, GenCG Software allows you to preview and edit one VideoCG file while another VideoCG file is simultaneously displayed on the program output. User Definable Clock/Timer Compix Media GenCG features a clock/timer function that allows you to display a real-time clock with timer capability. The clock displays in a variety of formats, in any font, size, color, etc. A Resident clock can be inserted as a recurring clock on all subsequent pages. Timers can be programmed to count up or down.

4 Downstream Key without Video Switcher Compix Media VideoCG systems (hardware & software) feature a special internal downstream liner alpha key with 256 transparency levels. There is no need for an expensive switcher. You can instantly snap on-air any titles or graphics directly to the program without any delays. Of course, Compix Media Video can also be setup in an upstream manner and connected to your switcher. ASCII Text Import GenCG software features ASCII text Import function to transfer files created from different text editors. Text can be created in Microsoft Word or any other word processing software, saved as a plain text document, and imported into GenCG software. The text insertion point can be preformatted so the complete document imports formatted to your specifications, including roll, crawl, font, and color. Windows XP /2000 & Windows ME /98 Compatible GenCG is compatible with the latest versions of Microsoft's popular Windows operating system. Windows 98 SE is included in Compix Media standalone systems (LCG systems), other operation systems quoted on request. Animation Import through Compix Media GenPlay Import Software Animations can be imported into VideoCG files for play back through Compix Media GenPlay software. Animations must be sequential targa (TGA) files for import. Animations can be placed on pages in VideoCG files, and played back. Ulead Cool 3D animation creation software is included with the purchase of Compix Media GenPlay software. (Included in Compix Media VideoCG LCG standalone systems) Video Signal Adjustment (GenlockVGA Control Screen- See figure below) Compix Media GenCG's uniquely designed software controller allows you to adjust signal and its video timing sequences such as sub-carrier phase, horizontal phase, color phase, and key delay with your mouse or keyboard. Standard video test signal color bars are included for signal testing. Adjustments can be made on the fly, without restarting your Character Generator hardware or software. NTSC or PAL Compatible Compix Media GenCG's supports both NTSC and PAL standard video formats. This feature is switchable from the software controller panel. 7 Compix Media GenPlay Compix Media VideoCG GenPlay software allows you to import sequential targa file animations into Compix Media GenCG software. GenPlay works as a bridge between your existing animation software and GenCG. With GenPlay software, you will be able to import, and play back your animated logo or bug in GenCG software. Using your third party animation software, i.e. Ulead Cool 3D (included) or Prismo India special effects Titler, you can create an animated logo or bug, save it as a set of sequential targa (TGA) files, and compile it into an insertable animation for Compix Media GenCG software. Once you have created your animation with 3 rd party animation software, insertion onto a Compix Media GenCG page is easy and direct from your Compix Media GenCG user interface.

8 Compix Media SDI Add-On Output Board (MSRP $1,495) Compix Media SDI Add-on Output Daughter card provides Serial Digital Interface output to, LCG5000 and LCG7000 series standalone systems, and to Plus and Ultimate kits. The SDI Daughter card doesn t require an additional PCI slot because it connects piggyback style. It is fully compatible with the SMPTE 259M Serial Digital Standard (Television - 10-Bit 4:2:2 Component and 4fsc Composite Digital Signals - Serial Digital Interface). The SDI card provides two digital video outputs and one digital key output.
