2 GenCG TM > Text Generation & Editing Creating colorful, attention-grabbing characters to relay your messages are made easy with GenCG software. GenCG uses the Microsoft Windows Fonts folder, giving you a virtually unlimited number of anti-aliased true type fonts to choose from. Color and texture schemes can be saved in the Catalog bar for convenient repeated use. > Multilingual Character Generation Compix Media GenCG software uses the Microsoft Windows language setting to give you the ability to display many different languages supported by Microsoft Windows. (Right to left languages are not supported at this time by GenCG) > Transition Effects (Roll/Crawl/Type/Multilayer) Compix Media GenCG comes standard with 240 built in transition effects including roll, crawl, and fade in and out. Roll and crawl speeds can be adjusted on the fly with the plus and minus keys on your numeric keypad. The Multilayer Effect gives every object on a single page a transition effect of your choice for a fluid presentation. > Bulletin Board Application Compix Media VideoCG systems running GenCG software can be used in a bulletin board application. With features like, background insertion, indefinite loops, and the transition effects, Compix Media GenCG makes a powerful, professional bulletin board system. The Compix Media Scheduler Suite (optional software for some systems) make bulletin board applications more hassle free than ever before. > Static Graphic/Logo Import You can easily import and display static graphic images and logos that are BMP, JPG, or TGA formats. Once imported, you can stretch and scale to various sizes. Now GenCG gives each image an alpha channel for crisp transparent imagery. GenCG also supports 32 bit targa (TGA) files with alpha channel for graphics with 256 levels of transparency. > Dual Operation Ideal for live on-air applications, GenCG allows you to preview and edit one VideoCG file while another VideoCG file is simultaneously displayed on Program Output. > User Definable Clock/Timer Compix Media GenCG features a clock/timer function that allows you to display a real-time clock with timer capabilities. The clock displays in a variety of formats, in any font, size, color, etc. A Resident clock can be inserted as a recurring clock on all subsequent pages. Timers can be programmed to count up or down. 3 GenCG TM (continued) > Downstream Key without Video Switcher Compix Media VideoCG systems (hardware & software) features a special internal downstream linear alpha key with 256 transparency levels. There is no need for an expensive switcher. You can instantly snap on-air any titles or graphics directly to the program without any delays. Of course, Compix Media Video can also be setup in an upstream manner and connected to your switcher. > Windows XP/2000 & Windows ME/98 Compatible GenCG is compatible with the latest versions of Microsoft's popular Windows operating system. Windows XP Professional is included in Compix Media StandAlone Systems, other operating systems quoted on request. > Animation Import Animations can be imported into GenCG for playback through Compix Media GenPlay software. Animations must be sequential targa (TGA) files for import. Animations can be placed on pages in GenCG and can be played back on-air. Ulead Cool 3D animation creation software is included with the purchase of Compix Media GenPlay. (GenPlay and Ulead Cool3D are not included for the LCG3000D, and the Board & Kits.) > NTSC or PAL Compatible Compix Media's GenCG supports both NTSC and PAL standard video formats. This feature is switch able from the software controller panel. This feature greatly benefits the capability of the Compix Media CG. > Video Signal Adjustment GenCG's uniquely designed software controller allows you to adjust the signal and its video timing sequences such as sub-carrier phase, horizontal phase, color phase, and key delay with your mouse or keyboard. Standard video test signal color bars are included for signal testing. Adjustments can be made on the fly, without restarting your Character Generator hardware or software. 4 NewsScroll TM > What is NewsScroll? Compix Media NewsScroll is a program that can be added to virtually any existing Compix Media VideoCG character generator system. This software package allows the character generator to simultaneously display a real time clock, logo, and a scroll of (news) information on any portion of your video output screen. > Structure of NewsScroll The information on the screen can be changed rapidly from the character generator or can be filed and changed from a remote location. Remote information may be filed from numerous remote locations and edited and sent to on air status. This software consists of two basic parts: NewsScroll: The main software itself that is installed in the host character generator Sender: The remote software that is installed in various remote computer locations connectable to the host character generator by LAN or Internet. > What is Sender? By using Sender, you can remotely control the functions of NewsScroll from a remote location. Without having to be in front of your CG, you can create news data from miles away, choose and modify clock and logo settings to be displayed on your live output, and immediately send it on air. Sender also gives you the ability to edit the file that is currently open on host CG, edit it, and send it back on air. 5 GenPlay TM > What is GenPlay? Compix Media VideoCG GenPlay software allows you to import sequential targa file animations into Compix Media GenCG software. GenPlay works as a bridge between your existing animation software and GenCG. > What does GenPlay do? With GenPlay software, you will be able to import, and play back your animated logo or bug in GenCG software. Using your third party animation software, i.e. Ulead s Cool 3D (included) or any existing animation program that supports a sequential Targa file output, you can create an animated logo or bug, save it as a set of sequential targa files, and compile it into an insert able animation for Compix Media GenCG software. Once you have created your animation with your 3rd party animation software, insertion onto a Compix Media GenCG page is easy and direct from your user interface. Using GenPlay, you can easily play broadcast quality 3D animation on your video output screen. [GenPlay Main] 5

6 RCES TM > Flexibility and Mobility of RCES With RCES (Remote Create and Edit ), you have the mobility to create GenCG files on any PC outside of Compix Media Character Generator. This gives you the flexibility to create multiple create and edit stations. All you need to do is install this program on any personal computer and you will be on your way to creating files away from your CG. After you are done creating your files, just send them by LAN or transfer them by your computer file storage disk. RCES gives you the mobility to create files from a remote location, further enabling you to establish multiple create/edit [RCES Main] stations everywhere. 6

The Scheduler Suite allows you to schedule an unlimited number of files for timed playback with ease. 8 MultipleCG TM Controller > Dual-Channel Opearations in One The MultipleCG enables you to control two Compix Media Boards at one time. If you already own a Compix Media System or Board & Kit, and you would like to purchase another board for that system; this eliminates the need of continually switching from one GenCG screen to the other. You can use two fully functional GenCG software simultaneously on just one of the interfaces.
