1 Welcome to Care Wisconsin s Provider Authorization Portal Training. The Authorization Portal is a web-based portal which allows you, the provider, ready access to specific service authorization information relating to members you serve. 1

2 During this presentation, we will provide step-by-step instructions on signing up for the portal and logging in, along with detailed information on searching for your service authorizations. This includes both downloading and printing features. Then, we ll cover changing your password, address and notifications settings in the Manage Account section. And finally, we ll go over logging out of the portal and whom to contact for help. 2

3 The first step in accessing the portal is to contact the Care Wisconsin Claims Department by at to request a Login ID. Please include your Tax ID and preferred address in the . The Care Wisconsin claims team will respond with your new Login ID when your request is approved (typically within 2 business days). You will receive a separate containing a link to active your account and select a unique password. 3

4 Note your password must contain at least 8 characters, and is case sensitive. For security purposes, passwords are required to have an upper and lower-case letter, a number, and a special character, such as a pound symbol or exclamation point. 4

5 You are now able to use your Login ID and password to access the portal. If your password is forgotten, click the Forgot your password? link for a new to reset your password. If your Login ID is forgotten, click the Forgot your Login name? link to receive an with your Login ID. 5

6 After you click Login, you will be taken to the Authorization Portal Home page. To begin your authorization search, simply click Search Authorizations. 6

7 The Authorization Portal allows you to search by open, closed, or all authorizations, by service date, member name, type of service or a specific authorization number. You can then choose to include all your locations billed under your Tax ID in your search, or narrow your search results by individual location. Once you ve selected your criteria, click Search. 7

8 A list of authorizations matching your search criteria will display on the bottom of the page. To open this with Excel, click Export to Excel, and select Save or Open if prompted. To view details of an authorization and/or print a copy of an authorization, click the blue authorization number linked under the column heading Auth No. 8

9 The Service Authorization detail screen gives you the specifics of the authorization, including authorization number, member name and date of birth, authorization start and end dates, service description and code, frequency and unit quantity, and service location name and address. You can print the authorization form using the Open to Print button. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to use this function, and can be downloaded to your PC by clicking Download Adobe Acrobat Reader. To return to the authorization list, click Return to Search Results. 9

10 Click the Hello link in the top black bar of the window to manage your account. You can change your password, address, or update your notification preferences. 10
