1 Welcome to the Store Bidding System The Store Bidding System (SBS) is the tool for General Contractors to submit their bids to Wal-Mart for construction projects.the following diagram shows the stages of a bid using SBS. Logging into the BLDG Portal To access SBS, you will be required to first login to the BLDG Portal ( with the username and password provided to you by Evoco. 2 Forgot Your Password Should you forget your username or password, click the Forgot your password? link on the login page. Type your address into the new window and click Submit. Your username and a new password will be ed to you. NOTE: The address you use to request your password must be the address associated with your user account on the BLDG Portal. Accessing the Store Bidding System Once you are logged into the BLDG Portal, click on Store Bidding System to see the stores your organization is currently being invited to bid on. Accepting the Invitation to Bid To participate in the bid process, the Invitation to Bid needs to be accepted. 1. To accept the invitation to bid, click the check mark. To decline the invitation to bid, click the x. 2. Click Yes to confirm you are accepting the invitation to bid. 3. The bid will show up in the list of stores. 4. When the status of the store changes from Pending to Open, you will be able to view the Bid Documents. October 4, 2006 Store Bidding System Bidding Tutorial 2

3 Bid Documents Bid documents are available for viewing, downloading and printing. Bid Document File Types There are four different types of files generally found in a bid package. Autodesk DWF All drawings in the Bid Document package are in.dwf format. The free viewer can be downloaded directly from Autodesk at Click the Autodesk DWF Viewer It s FREE button. Microsoft Word It is not necessary to have Microsoft Word on the computer to view the files from SBS, as the files are converted to be viewed online. However, if the files are to be downloaded and viewed locally, Microsoft Word will need to be installed. Microsoft Excel It is not necessary to have Microsoft Excel on the computer to view the files from SBS, as the files are converted to be viewed online. However, if the files are to be downloaded and viewed locally, Microsoft Excel will need to be installed. Adobe PDF Specifications and reports are found on SBS either as Word (.doc) files or as Acrobat (.pdf). To view the files, the free Adobe Reader will be necessary. The reader can be downloaded from Click the Get Adobe Reader button. Viewing Bid Documents 1. After logging into SBS, click on the store to open it. 2. To access the latest files, click on either Complete Drawing Package for the drawings or Complete Project Specifications for the specifications. 4 3. Click on the name of the file to open it for viewing. Files can also be accessed through the Bid Documents folder structure. Click on the folder name to see the files within that folder. Addenda are accessed in the same way. Downloading Documents Documents can be downloaded to your computer, so they can be printed in-house or sent to a reprographer. 1. Open the folder the documents are to be downloaded from. 2. To select all files in that folder for download, check the box to the top and right of the file list. This will place a check mark next to all of the files. To unselect all of the files, click the checkbox again. 3. Click the download button. 4. The files will be downloaded to your computer. When the download is finished, a message will appear stating where the files have been downloaded to on the computer. 5 Ordering Prints Through SBS Prints can be ordered through the Store Bidding System as a print package (.tiff or.pdf) or sent to a reprographer for printing. 1. To order prints, click the Order Prints button in the upper right corner of the SBS window. 2. Follow through the steps on screen to order the prints. Credit card payment is required. Asking Bid Questions The purpose of the Bid Question is to let General Contractors ask questions in regards to a bid. 1. Click Bid Questions. 2. Click the New Question button. 3. Enter the question into the Question box, then click the Ask Question button. 4. Once the question has been answered, it will show up in the Bid Questions folder. NOTE: The bid questions are answered by certain Wal-Mart associates, and times to respond to bid questions may vary. October 4, 2006 Store Bidding System Bidding Tutorial 5

6 Submitting a Bid 1. Click Bid Forms, then General Contractor. 2. On the right side of the screen, click on your company name to open the bid form. 3. Start filling out the bid form. Bid forms do not have to be completed all at one time. Information entered into the Bid Form can be saved as a working copy. To save the bid form, click the Save Form button. 4. Once the bid form is complete, click the Submit Form button. NOTE: The bid form can be submitted multiple times and only the latest copy submitted will be evaluated by Wal- Mart. 5. After the bid form has been submitted, print a copy of the form using the Print Form button. Submitting the CSI Breakdown The CSI breakdown must be submitted within 24 hours of the bid closing. 1. Click CSI Breakdown, then General Contractor CSI. 2. On the right side of the screen, click on your company name to open the bid form. 3. Fill out the CSI Breakdown. The CSI Breakdown form can be filled out one part at a time. To save the CSI Breakdown form, click the Save Form Button. 4. Once the CSI Breakdown form is complete, click the Submit Form button. NOTE: The CSI Breakdown form can be submitted multiple times and only the latest copy submitted will be evaluated by Wal-Mart. 5.
