Seniority Trip Trade Manual Introduction All line holders will now be using the seniority trip trade system to request schedule modifications to their awarded calendar up until 1100 local base time (LBT) the day prior to a trips departure date. After 1100 trips that depart on the next calendar day will only be available for instantaneous trading by using the instantaneous trading system or by calling the crew desk. Reserve pilots will only be able to access trips through the instantaneous system. Detailed information on both these systems can be found in a separate document. This manual is designed to assist line holders in using United s web based seniority trip trade system. In addition to this manual, pilots should be familiar with the trip trade related provisions of the United Pilot Agreement (UPA), Letter of Agreement 4 (LOA4.) The Seniority Trip Trade System is a tool that awards schedule modification requests in compliance with the UPA and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). A working knowledge of the rules under which this system operates is extremely helpful when trading. If there is any discrepancy between this manual and the UPA and/or the FARs, the UPA and/or the FARs are the controlling documents and take precedence.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual System Description 2.1 Runs The system processes all stored schedule modification requests in seniority order at set run times each day. The system will open at 1200 local base time (LBT) on the 20 th of each month to allow you to input bids for the following bid month. You will be able to save up to 18 separate requests to be processed. Trades can be entered at any time after the system opens until the end of the bid month. The system will begin processing trades for the next bid month on the 24 th at 1500 LBT. It will run every four hours after that until the end of the bid month in which you are trading. After 1100 LBT any stored requests that contain a trip departing the next day will no longer be considered by the seniority system. 2.2 Types of Requests There are four types of schedule modification requests the trip trade system will allow. A brief summary of each type is listed below. More information on how to create these requests can be found in section 7 of this manual. Normal Trip Trade Requests Requesting to trade out of one or more trips and trade into one or more trips in the same request is called a trip trade. Without Drop Pay Requests Requesting to drop a trip without picking up another trip in the same request is called a without pay drop. You are not pay protected for dropping flying from your monthly calendar unless you request to be paid for that trip out of your next year s vacation allowance. You can request to without pay drop multiple trips in one request. Vacation Drop Requests Requesting to drop a trip without picking up another trip in the same request and be paid for that trip out of next year s vacation allowance is called a vacation drop. You cannot vacation drop a trip and pick up another trip in the same request. A vacation drop has to be a standalone request. You can request to drop multiple trips using vacation in one request. Pilot-to-Pilot Requests Requesting to drop one or more trips in your line in exchange for one or more trips in another pilot s line is called a pilot-to-pilot trade. Pilot-to-Pilot requests are processed before the system runs to optimize all the other requests in the category.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual System Logic Pilots can enter up to 18 separate requests to be processed. The system will process requests in seniority order. Vacation Drop requests are incorporated into the Trip Trade System to remove subjectivity and to ensure uniformity during the awarding process. First, the logic attempts to award the first trade or vacation drop request using another pilots' request. If the program does not find a legal match, it will then attempt to award the trade using reserve coverage. This is a synergistic system, i.e. the more participants the greater the probability of award. Illegal trade request can be stored because another award can result in the illegal request becoming legal. Trade requests will be looked at in seniority order, as they are the primary trade, however, until they become the primary trade, the system can select any of your trade request in any order to help fulfill the current primary trade. The system builds opportunity, so even if it doesn't look promising, build and save your desired request because your request coupled with another pilot's request could create a trade opportunity. 2.4 Reserve Floors In order to drop a trip into open time there must be adequate reserve coverage on the day(s) of the trip. Per the UPA the company determines the minimum reserve coverage needed for those days. The minimum coverage is known as the minimum reserve level. Trades that result in a trip needing to be dropped into open time will not be permitted if the reserve coverage is at or below the minimum reserve level.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual System Access The Seniority Trip Trade System will be accessed through CCS. If you need assistance accessing CCS please contact one of the United Service Desk numbers below: Domestic: (Toll Free: ) International: Once you are on the CCS home page, select the Trading menu located at the top right hand corner of the screen. You will see a drop down list of trading links. Select the Seniority Trip Trade link. This will take you to the Seniority Trip Trade home page.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Home Page The Seniority Trip Trading home page is divided onto two sections. The left column on the screen has a box with three links. Below that box are monthly calendars and their associated flight summary boxes. This column will always be displayed regardless of where you are working in the system. In the middle of the screen are the monthly trading boxes. These boxes contain links to enter schedule modification requests and to view request reports. 4.1 Links Box The box in the upper left hand corner of the home page contains three links. Seniority Trip Trade Home Selecting this link will navigate you back to the Seniority Trip Trade home page. This link should also be utilized to start a new trade request after a request has been saved. Seniority Trip Trade Feedback Selecting this link will open a page that allows you to enter feedback about the system. Your comments will go directly to the company s system administrators. Calendar Refresh This link will refresh the calendar display(s) and flight information boxes with any changes made since entering the trip trade system. The schedule information displayed in your calendars in this system comes directly and only from CCS.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Calendar Display and Flight Information Box In the left hand column below the links box is your monthly calendar and associated flight information summary box. The schedule and flight information displayed comes directly and only from CCS. If you would like to see the details of any trip in your calendar just select the blue trip number on the first day of the trip. 4.3 Monthly Trading Box The monthly trading box contains links to create a schedule modification request and view request reports. This area will also display all the saved requests you currently have in the system. A box for the current bid period will always be displayed. A second box will be displayed for the next bid period when bidding for that period opens. It is normal to have two trading boxes displayed when trading is open in the current and subsequent bid periods.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 9 Create Trip Trade/Vacation Drop Request This link will direct you to the screen where you create and save schedule modification requests for the desired bid period. You can only create and store requests for one bid period at a time. When creating a schedule modification request, make sure you are in the box for the desired bid period. View Active Request Report This link will direct you to a report summary of all your schedule modification requests that are currently active. A detailed explanation of this report can be found in the reports section of this manual. View Request History Report This link will direct you to a report summary of all the schedule modification requests you have created in the current bid period that are no longer active. A detailed explanation of this report can be found in the reports section of this manual. Stored Trades After you have saved a schedule modification request a link to that request will be displayed at the bottom of the appropriate monthly bidding box.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Create Trip Trade/Vacation Drop Request Page On the Create Trip Trade/Vacation Drop page you will notice two new boxes. The scratchpad box and the trip tabs box. 5.1 Scratchpad A scratchpad is provided at the top of the Create Trip Trade/Vacation Drop Request page. The scratch pad offers an opportunity to edit trade requests prior to saving them. The scratchpad has ten columns that contain details about the trips you desire to trade. Request Type - Indicates whether you are requesting to trade into or drop a particular trip. Pairing Number - The number identifying the trip Date - Indicates the departure date of the trip. First Flight - shows the first flight number of the trip Local Dep. Time - Indicates the trip departure time, NOT REPORT TIME. If the trip departs from a satellite airport in a domicile the departure airport will be listed in parenthesis. Local Arr. Time - Indicates the trip arrival time. If the trip arrives at a satellite airport in a domicile the departure airport will be listed in parenthesis. Bid Time - Bid time is equal to flight time plus guarantee time from the trip. Guarantee time is any rig time in the trip that triggers additional pay. Bid time does not include deadhead time. This means that Bid time is not always equal to total amount you will be paid for the trip. Flight Time - Indicates the actual flight time of the trip.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 11 Pairing Days - How many calendar days the trip is. Trip Status - Indicates whether a trip is open, potentially open or assigned. The bottom of the scratchpad contains links for three actions. Save Request This link will direct you to a separate page that will allow you to save your trade. Delete Selected Items If you want to remove a trip from the scratchpad select the box(s) next to the trip(s) you wish to delete. After your selection has been made click on this link to remove the trip(s) from the scratchpad. Check Legality Selecting this link will run a legality check on the trips located in the scratchpad. A detailed description of this function can be found in section 6 of this manual. If there are no trips in the scratch pad or one of the requests is a criteria request the check legality button will not be available. 5.2 List My Trips Below the scratch pad on the "Create Trip Trade/Vacation Drop Request" page is the trip tabs box. The first tab is "List My Trips." This tab will list all of your current trips for the month that are eligible to be traded. Selecting the box to the left of the trip number and then selecting Add Selected Items to Scratchpad will move those trips to the scratch pad. More than one trip may be put in the scratch pad at a time.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Search Trips The second tab is the Search Trips tab. The Search Trips tab allows you to search for a trip to pick up based on your specific desires. There are several fields available that allow you to refine your search. A description of each search option field is listed below. Trip Date The Trip Date field allows you to filter which departure days you desire. Drop down fields are available for each day in the trading month. The first date that you will enter is the first date in which you wish to depart. The next date that you will enter is the last date that you wish to depart. The maximum date range is seven days.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 13 Trip Days The Trip Days search will filter trips that are a certain length. If you wish to use this option, simply click on the drop down arrow and select a value. If you wish to view trips of any length, leave this field blank. NOTE: The filter is to be used for trip days, not duty periods. Search Type The Search Type search offers the ability to indicate whether you want to search for an open trip, potential open trip, assigned trip or all trip types. Open trips are currently in the open file. Potentially open trips are those that another pilot has already requested to drop via this system. Assigned trips are currently assigned to another pilot. Selecting all trips will list all open, potential open, and assigned trips. Selecting the Search Type will filter trips meeting your specifications.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 14 Type of Flying The Type of Flying search will locate trips whichtrips that contain the desired type of flying. If you wish to display open trips operating everywhere, leave this field blank. The Domestic Only selection includes the contiguous 48 states, Alaska, and Canada. The US/Hawaii, Mexican and Caribbean selections require at least one entry into the corresponding region. European, Pacific, South American International, South American Domestic selections require the trip to be built as such. Local Departure Time The Departure Time search is designed to filter out undesirable departure times. This time is the departure time of the first flight, NOT REPORT TIME. If you wish to use this option, click on the arrows to produce a drop down list of times to allow you to select a departure time range in HH:MM for the first scheduled flight of a pairing. If you wish to view all departures, leave the pre-set range blank.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 15 Bid Time The Bid Time search allows you to search for trips which have a bid time greater than or less than the input value. All values must be input from the drop down list in HH:MM. You may leave this field blank if you desire to display trips with any bid time. Important: Bid time is equal to flight time plus guarantee time from the trip. Guarantee time is any rig time in the trip that triggers additional pay. Bid time does not include deadhead time. This means that Bid time is not always equal to total amount you will be paid for the trip. Layover Station The Layover Station search will find only those trips with layovers in selected stations. If you wish to input more than one layover station, press and hold the Control button when making your selections. You may leave this field blank if you wish to display trips with any layover station. In order for a trip to meet the layover station search, at least one of the layovers must be at the selected station. All-Night Flying The Night Flying search will allow you to choose whether or not you wish to display trips containing all night flying. If you wish to view only non-all night flights, select No. If you wish to view only trips containing all night flights, select Yes. If you wish to display all open trips with no all-night flying preference, leave this field blank. NOTE: Night flying for this search is based on the contractual definition of all night flights; those flights operating between 0230 to 0329 local base time (LBT).

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 16 Premium Trip Add Pay The Premium Trip Add Pay allows you to search for trips that have add pay of 50%, 75% or 100%. If you wish to display trips that have add pay select one of the percentages in this drop down menu. Duty Period The Duty Period search allows you to view only those trips that contain the requested number of duty periods. If you wish to display open trips containing any number of duty periods, leave this field blank. Items Per Page The trips that meet your input parameters will be displayed in the format below. Trips are displayed in ascending order by date with potential open trips moved to the top of the list for that date. You have the opportunity to preference how many items meeting your search criteria you wish to view on a page. The options include 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 99. When you are satisfied with the options you have chosen click on the Search link at the bottom of the page. A list of trips meeting your specifications will populate. To view specifics about a trip simply select the trip number underlined in blue. If you have multiple pages of requests you may click on a particular page number or choose the Next or Last buttons located at the top of the trip display.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Criteria Tab The last tab is the Criteria tab. You can use this tab to input specific criteria for flying that you would like to pick up. If you enter and save a criteria request the system will search for open or potentially open trips that meet that criteria each time a run occurs. If flying is found that meets your criteria it will try to award that flying based on all request inputs and parameters. An example of this functionality would be for a pilot that wants to find any 1-day trip that departs on the 21 st of the month. Once that criteria request is stored the system will check to see if any new flying meets that criteria each time the system runs. It may be a new trip the crew desk builds or a new trip that a pilot has dropped or is requesting to drop. This feature allows you to set up a request once and not have to keep going into the system to check new flying. Note: you can only enter one criteria request per trade request. In order to begin using the criteria fields, you must first select the Criteria' tab. There are only two mandatory fields in the criteria selection area, however, you should attempt to be as specific as possible when entering your trip characteristic criteria to ensure you are awarded a desirable trip. It is strongly recommended that you enter as many fields as possible when using the criteria feature. Trip Date (Required Field) The first mandatory field in the criteria section is the Trip Date field. Drop down fields are available for each day in the trading month. The first date that you will enter is the first date in which you wish to depart. The next date that you will enter is the last date that you wish to depart. Stated another way, if the trips departure date touches the date range entered in the trip date field the trip may be awarded. Note: The Trip Date field has a date range limitation of seven days.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 18 Warning: If you select December for a trip date and ask for a 4-day trip you can be awarded a trip that DEPARTS on December 24 and returns on December 27! Total Day(s) (Required Field) The second mandatory field is the Total Day(s) field, which requires you to enter the total number of days that you are requesting to pick up. Choose a value between 1 and 10 from the drop down box.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 19 Once you have input the two mandatory fields for a criteria trade, you can begin to further narrow your trade request using the balance of the criteria fields. The rest of this section will be devoted to Trip Characteristics. Trip Characteristics are non-mandatory criteria fields. If you use any of the Trip Characteristic criteria, keep in mind that only those trips that match your input criteria will be chosen. # DAY TRIP(S) One possible selection is the # Day Trip(s) column. This field allows you to request or avoid trips of specific calendar day lengths. To begin select the drop down arrow next to the X Day Trip(s) column and choose between the possible options. After you have made a selection, click on the drop down arrow in the second column to populate a numeric value. Type of Flying The Type of Flying field allows you to choose whether you wish to desire or avoid a certain type of flying. To begin, select the drop down arrow next to the Type of Flying field and make a choice to desire or avoid. After you have made your selection, click on the drop down arrow in the field to the right. The options available will allow you to specify a general region to desire or avoid. The Domestic Only selection includes the contiguous 48 states, Alaska, and Canada. The US/Hawaii, Mexican and Caribbean selections require at least one entry into the corresponding region. European, Pacific, South American International, South American Domestic selections require the trip to be built as such.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 20 Departure Station The Departure Airport field allows you to desire or avoid co-terminals for your domicile. Begin by selecting the drop down arrow next to the Dep. Airport field and choose desire or avoid. Click on the drop down arrow in the field to the right. This will bring up a list of all system coterminals in alphabetical order. Please select only a station serving your domicile. Local Departure Time/Local Arrival Time The Departure Time Range allow you to select the desired range of departure times for the initial duty period of a trip. The Arrival Time Range allow you to select the desired range of arrival times for the last flight of a trip. To begin simply select the drop down arrow next to the corresponding field and make a selection. After you have selected an hour value, click on the next drop down arrow to the right to populate the minute field. Repeat the above process for the two fields to the right of the through column.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 21 Trip Flight Time The Trip Flight Time field allows you to specify the amount of hard time that you desire. To begin, click on the drop down arrow next to the Trip Flt. Time column. After you have made your selection (greater than, less than, or equal) enter the numeric data into the two fields to the right. The format for entering the data should be HH:MM. If multiple trips are being requested, be sure to input the total combined flight time for all trips. Trip Pay Time The Trip Pay Time field allows you to specify a minimum, a maximum, or an exact pay time for a trip(s). To begin, click on the drop down arrow next to the Trip Pay Time column and make a selection. Next, manually enter in the trip pay time using the HH:MM format. If multiple trips are being requested, input the total combined pay time. Important: Trip pay time is equal to flight time plus guarantee time from the trip. Guarantee time is any rig time in the trip that triggers additional pay. Trip pay time does not include deadhead time. This means that trip pay time is not always equal to total amount you will be paid for the trip. Layover Station The Layover Station field allows you to select if you wish to desire or avoid a particular layover station. To begin select the drop down arrow next to the L/O Station column and choose desire or avoid. Next, click on the box to the right. A drop down is available with all layover stations in alphabetical order. Note: A minimum of one layover at the indicated station is needed to meet the input.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 22 Layover Length The Layover Length field allows you to specify a certain layover length. To begin select the drop down arrow next to the L/O Length column. After you have made your selection, you must input a numeric value in the next two columns to the right. The format for your entry should be HH:MM. NOTE: In order for an trip to meet the criteria, all of the layovers within that trip would need to be greater than, less than, or equal to the input time as a preference by you. Layover Start Time The Layover Start Time field allows you to choose at what time you would like to start your layover, either before, after, or equal to an indicated time (L/O Start time includes debrief). To begin, click on the drop down arrow next to the L/O Start Time field and make a selection. Next, select the drop down arrows in the next two columns to the right to populate the time in HH:MM. NOTE: In order for a trip to meet the criteria, all layovers within that trip would need to start before, after, or at the input time. Segments Per Duty Period The Segments Per Duty Period field allows you to choose a certain number of segments per duty period. To begin select the drop down arrow next to the Segments per Duty Period column. When you have made your selection, click on the box to the right with a drop down of 1 to 10. NOTE: In order for a trip to meet the criteria, all duty periods in that trip would need to contain greater than, less than, or equal to the input value.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 23 All-Night Flights The All Night Flying field allows you to choose to desire or avoid trips containing all night flying. If you wish to use this option, simply select the drop down arrow next to the Night Flying field, and make your selection. Yes selects trips which have at least one all night flying segment. No will select trips that have no all night flights. All Night Flying is flying that operates between LBT. Premium Trip Add Pay The Premium Trip Add Pay allows you to choose trips that have add pay of 50%, 75% or 100%. If you wish to use this option select one of the percentages in this drop down menu. Trip Number The Trip Number field offers you the ability to choose to desire or avoid a certain trip numbers. To begin, click on the drop down and make a selection. Next, simply input the numeric trip that you wish to desire or avoid.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Check Legalities When you want to determine if what you have added to the scratchpad would be a legal trade you can select the Check Legality button located below your trip information. When that function is selected it will determine the legality of ALL of the requested trips currently in the scratchpad. The check legality button is only available for into and drop requests. The button will not be available if a criteria request is entered because the system has no way to know what you may be awarded in that case. If you have multiple into and drop trips in the scratchpad it will look at that as one trade so the result will likely be that the request is not legal. Example: You are looking to fly a 1-day trip on the 26 th. You ve searched and found three 1-day trips you would be willing to fly. You select them all in the scratchpad with the intention of only being awarded one of the trips. If you were to Check Legality at this point it would show the trade as not legal since you could not fly all the 1-day trips on the same day. In this case you would need to put each 1-day trip in the scratchpad separately and check the legality of each one. This system uses COSMOS/CMS to determine all legalities. If a request is not legal it will return an error message describing the problem. Note: Per section 20-A-5 in the UPA the company can apply buffers to the legalities in the trip trade system. If the legality is buffered it will be indicated in the descriptions below.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Creating Trip Modifications This section will detail how to input and save schedule modification requests. There are three types of schedule modification requests that can be accomplished in the Seniority Trip Trade System. These are trip trades, trip drops and pilot-to-pilot trades. Details on each of these can be found in section 2 of this manual. The steps to enter any one of these requests are similar 7.1 Trip Drop Request Starting at the homepage follow these steps to create and save a request to vacation drop or without pay drop a trip. 1. Select the Create Trip Trade/Vacation Drop Request link in the appropriate trade box for the bid month in which you want to drop a trip(s). Warning: During certain times of the month trading will be open for more than one bid month. At these times you will see a trade box displayed for each bid period. Make sure you are selecting the link in the trade box for the month in which you want to make a schedule modification request 2. Locate the trip you wish drop under the "List My Trips tab and select the box to the left of the trip you wish drop. This will place a check mark in the selected box. If you wish to drop multiple trips in the same trade request, click on the box next to each trip you wish to drop 3. Select Add Selected Items to Scratchpad. The selected trip(s) will populate in the scratchpad above. Once a trip is added to the scratchpad it disappears from the List My Trips tab. Note: It is important to realize that the order of trips as they appear in the scratchpad does not affect the order in which the trades are considered by the solver. You cannot prioritize the order in which you desire the trades to be processed. A detailed explanation of how the solver engine works can be found in section 2 of this manual.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Select the Check Legality box if you wish to check to see if there are any legalities that would prevent your trade from being awarded. A detailed description of the Check Legality function can be found in section 7.0 of this manual. Note: When you select Check Legality it will simulate all the trips currently in the scratchpad being awarded in your calendar. If you have multiple into and drop trips in the scratchpad you may get a Not Legal message even though the specific combination of trips you desire may be legal. 5. Select Save Request to get the Save Request pop up window. You must now select whether you desire to vacation drop or without pay drop the trip(s) you are trying to drop. If you select Trip Trade you are telling the system to drop your selected trip(s) without pay. This option reduces your credit and protected time. If you select Vacation drop, the trip will be paid for with next year s vacation per the UPA. The "Min Bid Time" and "Maximum Bid Time" boxes allow you to enter the minimum pay time you would like to drop to or the maximum pay time you would like to have in your schedule as a result of that specific trade.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 27 To use this option, enter a numeric value into the fields using a HH:MM format. In order for your trade request to be awarded when using this criterion, your monthly pay must be equal to or greater than the minimum value or equal to or less than the maximum value you have entered. Note: This feature is used as a backstop to prevent picking up or dropping more time than you intended. If you do not choose to enter any minimum or maximum times these values will default to the UPA (20-P-1-h) defined parameters. The minimum time you can drop to is 50 hours of credit time or your current line value credit at the time of the trade, whichever is lower. The maximum time you can pick up will be based on FAR 117 limitations. The system will let you request to trade into or out of multiple trips at once. If you save a request with multiple into or drop trips in the scratchpad you will be asked to indicate whether you want to drop or pickup everything in the scratchpad or only one of your specific trips. You will have to make this selection for all your into and drop requests separately. If you wish to trade into all of the trips you have moved into the scratchpad then select the all into radial button. This will tell the system to try to award all of the trips in the scratchpad. If there is a reason that all of the trips you selected cannot be awarded in a single request then the trade will not be awarded. Stated another way, this is an all or nothing request. If you only desire the system to attempt to award one of the selected trips in the scratchpad then you would select the any one into radial button. This would tell the system that even though you have selected multiple trips to trade into you would only like to be awarded one of your choices. As an example, you would use the any one into if you were trying to find a 1-day trip on a specific date. You search the 1-day trips for that date and find three that you would be willing to fly. You move all three into the scratchpad with the intent of being awarded any one of those trips on that date. In this scenario you would select the any one into radial button. The same logic applies to selecting all drop or any one drop. If you want the system to try to drop all of the trips you ve placed in the scratchpad you would select all drop. Once again, this is an all or nothing request. Similarly, if you only want the system to attempt to drop one of the trips you ve placed in the scratchpad then select the any one drop radial button.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Select Save Request in the dialog box to save and store your request. Note: To be sure your request has been saved make sure the message Your request has been successfully saved appears below the scratchpad. You can also verify that a new trade has been created in the appropriate monthly trade box on the trip trade home page. 7.2 Trip Pickup Request Specific Paring Number When trading into a trip, you have three possible options. You can request to trade into a specific open trip, a specific trip currently in another pilot s calendar that appears as potential or assigned or you can use criteria to allow the trip trade system to locate a trip that meets characteristics that you select. Starting at the homepage follow these steps to create and save a request to pick up a specific trip(s). 1. Select Create Trip Trade/Vacation Drop Request link in the appropriate trade box for the bid month in which you want to drop a trip(s). Warning: During certain times of the month trading will be open for more than one bid month. At these times you will see a trade box displayed for each bid period. Make sure you are selecting the link in the trade box for the month in which you want to make a schedule modification request.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Select the Search Trips tab in the trip tabs box to search for specific trips to pickup. Use the search trips tab to search for the trips you desire to trade into. A detailed description of how to use this tool is found in chapter 5.3 of this manual. Once you have populated a list of desired trips in this area proceed to the next step. 3. Select the box to the left of the trip you wish pick up. This will place a check mark in the selected box. If you wish to pick up multiple trips in the same trade request, click on the box next to each trip you wish to pick up. Note: To view specifics about any trip in the list simply click on the paring number underlined in blue.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Select Add Selected Items to Scratchpad. The selected paring(s) will populate in the scratchpad above. Once a trip is added to the scratchpad the box to the left of the trip is disabled and all the details of the trip in the tab are replaced by the message In Scratchpad Above. Note: It is important to realize that the order of trips as they appear in the scratchpad does not affect the order in which the trades are considered by the solver. You cannot prioritize the order in which you desire the trades to be processed. A detailed explanation of how the solver engine works please see section 2 of this manual. 5. Select Check Legality box if you wish to check to see if there are any legalities that would prevent your trade from being awarded. There is a detailed description of the Check Legality function in chapter 7.0 of this manual. Note: When you select Check Legality it will simulate all the requests currently in the scratchpad being awarded in your calendar. If you have multiple into and drop requests in the scratchpad you may get a Not Legal message even though the specific combination of trip your are ultimately desiring may be legal.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Select Save Request to get the Save Request pop up window. The "Min Bid Time" and "Maximum Bid Time" boxes allow you to enter the minimum pay time you would like to drop to or the maximum pay time you would like to have in your schedule as a result of that specific trade. To use this option, enter a numeric value into the fields using a HH:MM format. You will have to make this selection for your into and drop requests separately.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 32 As an example, you would use the any one into if you were trying to find a 1-day trip on a specific date. 7. Select Save Request in the dialog box to save and store your request. Note: To be sure your request has been saved make sure the message Your request has been successfully saved appears below the scratchpad. You can also verify that a new trade has been created in the appropriate monthly trade box on the trip trade home page.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Trip Pickup Request Criteria The trip trade system allows you to input a series of criteria that will award trip pickups based on your criteria. The more specific you are with your criteria selections, the better chance you will have of being awarded a desirable trip. Please note that you can only enter one criteria request per trade request. As long as you leave this type of request stored, on every run the trip trade system will check all open and potentially open trips for any new trips that match your desired criteria. Starting at the homepage follow these steps to create and save a request to pick up a trip using criteria. 2. Select the Criteria tab in the trip tabs box. Fill in as much of the criterion as you desire from the choices on that page. At a minimum you need to fill out the first two fields which are titled Trip Dep. Date and Total Day(s). They are both marked with a red asterisks. In order to assure you are awarded a trip you desire to fly it is beneficial to be as specific as possible when filling in your criteria. A detailed explanation for all of the criteria fields on this page is found in section 5.4 in this manual.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 34 After you are satisfied with your criteria selections proceed to step Select Add to Scratchpad at the bottom of the page. This will add a line entitled Criteria to the scratchpad indicating you are requesting to pick up a trip using your specific criteria as a part of this schedule modification request. You can only add one set of criteria to an individual schedule modification request. If you desire to use a different set of criteria choices you will need to create a separate request. Note: When creating a request using criteria you will not be able to use the Check Legality feature. The system cannot determine what trip(s) you may be awarded so it has no ability to check legalities. 4. Select Save Request to get the Save Request pop up window. The "Min Bid Time" and "Maximum Bid Time" boxes allow you to enter the minimum pay time you would like to drop to or the maximum pay time you would like to have in your schedule as a result of that specific trade. To use this option, enter a numeric value into the fields using a HH:MM format.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 35 If you only desire the system to attempt to award one of the selected trips in the scratchpad then you would select the any one into radial button. 8. Select Save Request in the dialog box to save and store your request. Note: To be sure your request has been saved make sure the message Your request has been successfully saved appears below the scratchpad. You can also verify that a new trade has been created in the appropriate monthly trade box on the trip trade home page.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Pilot-to-Pilot Trade If you have spoken to another pilot and have agreed to trade with them, the system will allow you to enter a trade request with that other pilot using their employee number. When you enter another pilot s employee number in your trade request this will match you up directly with that other pilot. Your trade will be processed before the normal branching logic runs and will not bring any other pilots into your trade. Pilot-to-Pilot requests have to be at least one trip in your calendar in exchange for at least one trip in another pilot s calendar. You cannot vacation drop or drop without pay one of your trips as a pilot-to-pilot trade. Follow these steps to input a pilot-to-pilot trade. 2. Locate the trip(s) you wish trade away under the "List My Trips tab and select the box to the left of the trip you wish to add to the scratchpad. This will place a check mark in the selected box. If you wish trade multiple trips in the same trade request, click on the box next to each trip you wish to trade away. 3.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Select the Search Trips tab in the trip tabs box. You are now going to search for the trips that are currently in the other pilot s calendar. These trips will most likely be listed as assigned unless the other pilot has already attempted to drop them as a part of another trade. In that case the trip will be displayed as potential open. Use the search trips tab to search for the trips you desire to trade into. A detailed description of how to use this tool is found in chapter 5.3 of this manual. Once you have populated a list of desired trips in this area proceed to the next step. 5. Select the box to the left of the trip you wish pick up. This will place a check mark in the selected box. If you wish to pick up multiple trips in the same trade request, click on the box next to each trip you wish to pick up.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual 38 Note: To view specifics about any trip in the list simply click on the trip number underlined in blue. 6. Select Add Selected Items to Scratchpad. The selected trip(s) will populate in the scratchpad above.

Seniority Trip Trade Manual Select Check Legality box if you wish to check to see if there are any legalities that would prevent your trade from being awarded. There is a detailed description of the Check Legality function in chapter 6 of this manual. Note: When you select Check Legality it will simulate all the trips currently in the scratchpad being awarded in your calendar. If you have multiple into and drop trips in the scratchpad you may get a Not Legal message even though the specific combination of trips you ultimately desire may be legal. 8. In order for your trade request to be awarded when using this criterion, your monthly pay must be equal to or greater than the minimum value or equal to or less than the maximum value you have entered.
