Now you can enjoy the thrill of a lifetime whilst raising money for 70/30 at the same time. By joining our fundraising team, you have the opportunity to make a real difference for children and families all over the country. Currently 1 in 5 children in the UK suffer significant abuse or neglect at some point during their lifetime. 90% of those affected receive no help at all. We re working to change this. The 70/30 Campaign is a network of people, all over the UK, dedicated to reducing levels of child abuse & neglect by 70% by the year This information pack will provide you with all the information you need before committing to your 70/30 skydive, including where you can jump and how to sign up. 3 Know your options Before you take to the skies, know your options. Jump Solo Lead a Team Want to tick a skydive off your bucket list? Perfect! By raising money for the 70/30 Campaign, you have the opportunity to do the jump of your choice at your chosen airfield, anywhere in the UK. How you ll pay for your skydive is up to you! When skydiving for 70/30, you have the choice to use part of your sponsorship money to cover the cost of the jump OR pay for it yourself and choose to donate all of the funds you raise to the 70/30 cause. It s up to you! Not sure that jumping out a plane at 10,000 ft. is for you, or don t want to do it on your own? No problem! You have the choice to form a group of friends or colleagues and take to the skies together. You ll fundraise together and whoever wants to, can take on this once in a lifetime experience on your chosen date. Choose a fun team name, decide how many of you are jumping and enjoy raising funds for an amazing cause in the lead up to your skydive. *Each team member who chooses to jump will need to have raised the minimum sponsorship (varies by jump type) required at least 2 weeks before their scheduled skydive. If you are covering the costs yourself, you will need to pay the airfield directly on the day of your jump.

4 Types of jumps There are 3 main types of skydives you can choose from. The majority of jumpers opt for the tandem skydive at 10,000 ft. Tandem Skydive This is our most popular type of skydive. You ll be harnessed to an experienced parachute instructor at all times. You ll jump from at least 10,000 feet just like the professionals.

Jump and training is completed in one day and you ll receive a certificate to prove you ve done it! Static Line Jump Jump solo from 3,000 feet under the supervision of an instructor.

5 Tandem Skydive This is our most popular type of skydive. You ll be harnessed to an experienced parachute instructor at all times. You ll jump from at least 10,000 feet just like the professionals. Freefall down to 5,000 feet falling through the air at 120 mph. Ride the parachute down to the ground you ll be taught how to steer onto the drop zone. Landing is controlled by your instructor. Jump and training is completed in one day and you ll receive a certificate to prove you ve done it! Static Line Jump Jump solo from 3,000 feet under the supervision of an instructor. Thorough training is covered; from exiting the aircraft to making the perfect landing. You re securely attached to a 'static line' which automatically opens your parachute for you. You ll receive a certificate to prove you ve done it! Accelerated Freefall (AFF) Take your first steps towards becoming a professional skydiver. Skydive solo from 10,000 feet. Freefall down to up to 5,000 feet falling through the air at 120 mph. A full days training from qualified instructors is included. Train during the week for your jump at the weekend. Receive a certificate to prove you ve done it!

6 Where you can jump We use a number of British Parachute Association (BPA) approved drop zones around the UK. You can book your skydive with whichever airfield is nearest to you. If you do not see the airfield you wish to use on our list (below) you can contact them directly and see what jumps they offer. 7 Sign up & pay for your skydive Great, so let s get started! To start your 70/30 skydive challenge, simply fill in the registration form on the 70/30 website ( giving us your contact details, the name of your chosen airfield and the type of jump you want to do. Note there is a separate registration form for those who are forming a team. You will also need to specify at this stage whether you are using your sponsorship money to fund the jump or are paying for this separately. Once you have received an from us confirming receipt of your details, contact your airfield of choice directly to pay the initial deposit (this can vary from airfield to airfield) and discuss possible dates to do your jump, including any necessary training. Remember to give yourself plenty of time between signing up and jumping to fundraise! The airfield will send you precise details of your skydive booking and costs by , as well as the necessary BPA medical declaration forms. You must return this form (signed by your doctor if required) direct to the airfield on the day of your jump. You should have reached your fundraising goal at least two weeks before your scheduled jump. This gives us the time necessary to receive your sponsorships and pay the airfield the agreed amount in advance of your jump. If you have decided to pay for your skydive separately and direct all sponsorships to 70/30, you will have to pay the airfield on the day of the jump. Please note that if you fail to raise the minimum sponsorship amount (stated above) you will not be able to jump on your chosen date. Please note that when taking part in a static line or accelerated freefall jump the payment to the airfield is for your training and is totally non-refundable even if you do not jump.

8 How to start fundraising Once you filled in our online form and payed your skydive deposit to your selected airfield, it s time to get started fundraising! Let the fun begin! By far the easiest way to fundraise for 70/30 is to set up an online fundraising page. We recommend JustGiving. You can add a photo, define your fundraising target and track and share your progress with friends and family! Follow these simple steps to get started: 1. Go to JustGiving and set up your page. 2. all your friends, family and colleagues with the link to your page. Include examples of how fundraising makes a lasting difference to children. 3. Target your most generous supporters first as people tend to donate amounts based on what others have already given. 4. Post the link to your online fundraising page on social media, and include the link to your online fundraising page on your signature if you use one. 5. Publicise your fundraising page details on intranets, workplace/community newsletters or notice boards. 6. Update your online fundraising page with progress and resend to your contacts. 7. Personalise the thank you and ask your supporters to spread the word about your fundraiser to their friends and family. 8. After the event, update your page with photos and your result, and remind people they can still donate. If you need any help with your page, check out JustGiving s help section. 9 Frequently asked questions When can I jump? You can book most dates of the year online or by phone. You can book a date up to 6 months in advance. Remember to give yourself plenty of time to fundraise before jumping! Where can I jump? See page 5 to find your nearest airfield. What about insurance? You will automatically be covered by a third party insurance but this will not cover you for personal injury. You can arrange this if you wish through your own broker. Skycover ( and Extreme Plus ( are recommended by a number of parachute and skydiving providers. Can I reclaim my registration fee? No. This fee is non-refundable and is paid direct to the airfield when you book and register for your jump. Will I need to fill out a medical form? You will be required to sign a medical form before your jump, declaring your fitness to take part (115A). The principal medical restrictions for all jumps are: diabetes, epilepsy, fits, recurrent blackouts, heart or lung disease, mental illness and some cases of asthma. This medical form will be sent to you upon receipt of your reservation by the airfield but is also available on request. Those under the age of 18 will need the form signed by a parent or guardian; those aged 40 and over, or those with an existing medical condition, will need to have the medical form signed & stamped by their doctor (115B). Can I raise my fundraising target online? Yes. We recommend you raise your fundraising target through Just Giving. You will need to notify us at least two weeks before and then we are able to cover the costs of the jump. If you fail to reach your target in time, you will be unable to jump on your scheduled date. Are there any age and weight restrictions? You must be aged 16 or over to jump. For static line and accelerated freefall you must also be 55 or under as well. For all types of jump you should be 15 stone or under. Please note that the approximate weight varies across each airfield. Can I have my jump filmed? Most drop zones will have professional cameramen available to capture your big moment. Video, DVD or photographs make a fantastic lasting reminder of your day as well as providing proof to your sponsors that you actually did it! The cost of video and 35mm stills vary from drop zone to drop zone, usually 90 to 110. It is worth checking with your drop zone in advance what will be available and how much it will cost.
