1 imodules Reference Guide Creating an (For Giving Day 2017) ***OPEN IMODULES IN CHROME*** 1) Choose Home: 2) Find your college/unit templates using the search bar next to the Saved Drafts section on this main page: Once you have located the correct template for your college or unit, click on the wheel icon next to it, and select RE-USE

2 3) Update the Details use the naming convention: netid/college or Unit name Giving Day 2017 Send date, time Sample: dhe4/engineering- Giving Day /14, 10am Remember to change the Category to Giving Day 2017 very important!! In the footer, choose Unsubscribe Link Only this will prevent the footer from having duplicate addresses very important! Fill in your FROM, Reply address, Subject line, and pre-header.

3 4) In the next screen, the Build Content portion, make edits to the text, photos, headers, etc. by selecting the pencil icon above the section you want to edit: 5) A new window will open. Select the pencil icon again:

4 6) You can make edits in the next screen. In order to keep the formatting, do not delete the first letter present in the template. For example, you can delete everything except the first T in this example below, type in your new text, or copy and paste (FROM NOTEPAD DO NOT PASTE FROM WORD you will need to strip the formatting from any text you are using, so copy and paste it into a notepad document first, then copy and paste from there into the imodules template):

6 Now you can delete the first letter and the formatting will stay. Select Save Version, then Save and Load Content in the next screen. Use these same steps to insert your main text. 7) To insert a photo, choose the pencil above the gray photo box, then choose the pencil again in the next screen. ***PLEASE WATCH THE INSERTING A PHOTO VIDEO. This will be much easier to understand after watching the video made by Deb.

7 8) Click on the photo icon to choose your photo: Select the College and Unit Giving Day folder under -marketing this is where you can upload your photo and select it to insert into the template (Make sure it is resized to the correct 570x285 pixels for body photos or 600x175 for header images) Once you have selected your photo, choose the Properties tab:

8 Click into Choose Image and select the entire line of text, then copy

9 Hit CANCEL, and return to the edit content screen: Now, navigate into the HTML screen:

10 The image code will look like this; <!-- Image --> <table class="mwidth" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" style="width:600px;border-collapse: collapse;"> <tbody> <tr> <td class="mwidth mfullimage" width="600" align="left" style="padding-top:0px; paddingright:0px; padding-bottom:0px; padding-left:0px;"> <img src=" style="display: block; border-width: 0px; border-style: solid;" class="mfullimage" width="600" height="175"> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> Find the part of the code that starts with <img src= (THIS IS THE HIGHLIGHTED SECTION ABOVE) This is where you will paste the text you just copied from your image make sure to paste BETWEEN the quotations after src= This: <img src=" Should look something like this with the text from YOUR photo: <img src="/s/1717/images/gid2/editor/ -marketingteam/college_and_units_giving_day_2016/cis_giving_day_gates_hall.jpg" You can now go back into the design screen: Your photo will now display with the correct formatting. 11 9) Follow the same steps to start editing the button selecting the pencil to edit content. To edit the link and/or text in the button, click inside the text (but do not highlight!) Then choose the hyperlink manager You will need to put in the FULL URL for the link include the or Choose OK, and save your work.

12 Once all of your edits are done, choose Save & Continue at the bottom of the Build Content section to move into the Preview section. Here you can choose to send previews to the people/person who needs to see and approve a proof of your . Make sure to put YOUR ADDRESS in the reply-to section so their comments come to you directly. You can add a message to the recipient in the Additional Comments box, and then click Send Preview.

13 When you are ready to upload your list of people for a general alumni and donors (AFTER YOU REMOVE VIPS and MULTI GIVE people FROM YOUR LIST), select the Choose Recipients section, then choose Configure under Data Viewer: Choose Upload Constituent ID.csv/Excel file, and browse for your one column CSV file of 7-digit IDs.

14 The screen will look like this when it is ready to upload choose Next: The Data Viewer box will light up in green when the file is successfully uploaded and will display the number of recipients: DO NOT PANIC if the number is slightly lower than the number of people you were expecting to load. This is because imodules will automatically remove people with invalid addresses and people who are unsubscribed from the category you selected (SHOULD BE GIVING DAY 2017).

15 Next, schedule your . Choose the date and time under In the Future The next screen will allow you to approve and release your . Review the information on the screen and choose Save & Continue when you are ready to release/schedule it.
