Setup of Direct Messaging Address and Referring Provider

1 Meaningful Use Related Modified Stage 2 Objective: Health Information Exchange (Summary of Care): The EP who transitions their patient to another setting of care or provider of care or refers their patient to another provider of care should provide summary of care record for each transition of care or referral. Measure: The EP who transitions or refers their patient to another setting of care or provider of care provides a summary of care record for more than 10 percent of such transitions and referrals electronically (via direct messaging). In order to meet this measure, Direct Messaging must be utilized and the sending facility must be issued a Direct Messaging Address by Inpriva (3 rd Party HISP). Once Evident has received Direct Messaging orders, Evident will configure for Direct Messaging. Once that is done, your facility will receive an from Inpriva inviting your facility to onboard. After onboarding, Inpriva will issue your facility a direct messaging address. This address must be entered into your system to send or receive information via Direct Messaging. To enter in Direct Messaging address into the Clinic Table: Select Master Selection > Business Office Tables > Table Maintenance > BO > Insurance: Clinic Table > Select the clinic code that belongs to the clinic you are uploading the address for (Control > Department Table > Select the clinic department > Page 5 > Clinic Code) > Load the address in the Direct Address field Revision Date: 03/31/2016 1

2 Enter Direct Address. In addition to the above set up, your facility will want to set up direct referring providers/facilities to send to. The Referring Physician Table is used to meet the measure of providing a summary of care document when referring a patient to another setting of care or another provider electronically (via direct messaging). The receiving facility or provider will need to supply you with their Direct Messaging Address to meet this objective. 4 Select Save and Back Arrow to Exit. At minimum you must have a Physician Code and Physician Name entered. The code is facility defined. To edit an existing provider, double-click the provider. Revision Date: 03/31/2016 4

5 Save and Back Arrow to Exit. Enter Direct Address for Direct Messaging or edit applicable fields. NOTE: If the facility or provider that you are transferring or referring your patient to does not have Direct Messaging abilities, please contact Inpriva (3 rd party HISP) to purchase a Medical Mailbox to send the summary of care to in order to meet this measure.
