1 MacTrak Installation Guide 1. Run the installer (Note: When installation is complete the system will need to be rebooted, please make sure you save and close any other applications running on your system) 2. Enter the license key you have been provided, as well as an address and password (not your account password) you will use for login purposes on the GadgetTrak website. For security purposes please do not use a.mac account, or any account that comes directly to your computer, we recommend using a web based free such as Yahoo or Gmail. 3. Next you will setup your account information, you will need to enter the address you would like tracking notifications to come from as well as the address you would like them to go to. You will need to enter your outgoing mail server information, here is a list of common outgoing mail servers for free accounts: Comcast Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.comcast.net Click the SSL Box and change the port text field to 587 Gmail Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com Click the SSL box to be checked, the default port of 465 is correct Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (requires a paid premium account) Verizon Outgoing Mail Server: outgoing.verizon.net

2 4. The next step will take you to the Flickr account integration. This step will grant permission for your system to upload images to your Flickr account. If you do not have a Flickr account, you will need to do so, they are free. Visit to setup your account. Once your account is setup, or if you already have one click on the Login button. When you click on Login your web browser will open and ask you to log into your Flickr account. Note: Your Flickr ID and password are not shared with any other party but Flickr, this step is simply granting permission to your system and the MacTrak software to upload images from your system.

3 Once you have logged into your account you should see an image such as this: You can now close your browser window. Now you will need to click on the Authenticate button, this will verify with Flickr that MacTrak has permission to upload images. 5. You will next be asked to select the installation location, we recommend keeping the default installation location. Next click the Install button in the lower right hand side. The software will install itself and once completed will ask to reboot your system. You will need to reboot the system. MacTrak is now installed!

4 6. Once the system has been rebooted you can modify any of the settings you configured during the installation in the System Preferences pane of you system. You will now see the GadgetTrak Preferences pane, to make any changes to this pane you will first need to click on the lock on the bottom right: For security purposes you will need to enter the administrative password for the system to make changes to the software configuration. 7. While you are in the tab, you can test your configuration by clicking on the Test button. The software will attempt to send an using the parameters you have specified, if the cannot be delivered an error prompt will appear. If the is delivered you will get a message saying it has been sent, you will also get an from your system to the account you have specified confirming the test. 10. Now to test a theft! Log into the GadgetTrak for Mac activation page here: You will need to enter the address and password you entered when you installed the software, as well as the license key provided to you when you purchased (please write all of this data down and keep it in a safe place)

5 Once logged in you will see a big button that says Tracking Disabled To enable tracking click on this button, it will immediately turn red to indicate tracking is now enabled for your device:

6 Now on your Mac, logout and log back in, or wait 30 minutes. GadgetTrak will start sending you s with photos captured to the address you have specified as well as your Flickr account. Included in the report are the wi fi based location data that has been collected. The latitude and longitude coordinates will be accurate within meters in urban areas and 100 meters in suburban areas.
