3 How do I access the MBM Tool?

4 Access Mercer BenefitsMonitor via imercer.com MBM is a web-based application. It supports all major web browsers, including Internet Explorer 6.0 and up and Mozilla Firefox. To access from your web browser, type in the URL address box and hit the enter key. The following screen will appear. Select your location (e.g.: Asia) 3

5 Login to imercer.com portal Please click on the login/register link below to log into imercer Enter your (User ID) and Password information provided to you and click on sign in. 4

6 Login to imercer.com portal This will bring you to the My Tools section of imercer.com as shown below. From the list of available tools, click on the Mercer BenefitsMonitor link to access the application. 5

7 Welcome to MBM Page Selecting a Country Note that first time users will need to accept the terms of the user agreement. Select a country on which you wish to query benefits information. The drop down box only contains the list of countries to which you have subscribed. Choose a country (e.g.: Singapore) and click Select button. 6

8 Functionalities on the Banner Your name based on the imercer user account appear beside the Welcome label. If you submitted survey data for the selected country, then your company name will appear beside Employer:. This allows you to include your company data when comparing against peer groups in the generated reports. If you did not submit survey data for a country, it will indicate None. Your selected Country name (e.g.: Singapore) appears on the banner. To select another country, simply click on the Country: link. This will return you to the MBM Welcome page where you can select another country, if available, based on your subscription. 7

9 Selected Country Home Page Each country home page contains general information about our database, link to quarterly benefits insight newsletter, global benefits legislative updates, snapshot survey key findings, two page summary of retirement, medical, sickness, disability and death benefits for 49 countries, and the ability to provide your feedback or to contact us for support. 8

10 FAQ Site Looking for answers to your questions? Check for published articles in our FAQ site. Click on FAQ on the main menu. A separate pop-up window will open. On the left navigation section, click on the Mercer BenefitsMonitor folder icon to expand the sub-folders. 9

11 How do I generate reports?

12 Reports Page Overview The Reports page is where users can download the Spotlight on Benefits Report or generate three other types of reports. Documentation is also provided to explain survey results. Click on any of the reports to generate your report Click on Report Queue to check on the progress of the report you are generating 11

14 Spotlight on Benefits Report The spotlight on benefits report are prepared reports providing an executive summary overview of key benefit practices. Simply click on the link to download the latest version of the report. The reports are available in PDF format. You will need Adobe Acrobat to open these files. 13

15 Benefits Practice Summary Report, Benefits Prevalence Report, Detailed Benefits Report These three reports allow users to customise their selections on which to produce reports. Benefits Practice Summary Report (BPR-S) - Overview of the prevalence and median values across the different employee categories of your selected peer group Benefits Prevalence Report (BPR) - Side by side comparison of your organization s benefits policies against aggregated statistics of your selected peer group Detailed Benefits Report (DBR) - Provides aggregated statistics and exact details of the benefit plans of a custom peer group - Side by side comparison of benefits provided by different employers Generating reports in 3 easy steps. 14

16 Step 1 Select Peer Group Select the available peer groups you would like to use. Note that list of peer groups varies by subscription package. - Standard Peer Group (not available for Detailed Benefits Report) - Custom Peer Group (refer to section on How to request a Custom Peer Group) Click link to view list of participants included in the selected peer group. Check the box if you want to display your Employer s information when reporting results (not available for Benefits Practice Summary Report) 15

17 Step 2 Select Employee Groups Select Employee level you would like to include in your report Note that the list of Employee groups may differ by country, based on the country s benefits survey questionnaire. Note that if split reports by employee groups is not selected, the Benefits Prevalence Report will reflect the overall aggregated statistics of all the employee levels you selected. For the Benefits Practice Report Summary, select all the employee levels to compare median values across the board 16

18 Step 3 Select Benefit Categories Select the Benefit Categories you would like to include in your report Note that the list of benefits differs by country based on the country s benefits survey questionnaire. 17

19 Generate Report Simple as Check the details you have selected, confirm and click Run Report, or click on Previous button to go back and make changes to your selections. 18

20 Report generation Your report will be added to the queue for processing so you need not stay on this screen to wait for your report to be generated. Once your report is generated, an will be sent to you and your window will indicate that your report status is complete. If you are generating more than one report, you can monitor the status of each one from the window. You may view the status of completed or canceled reports for up to 24 hours on the other tabs. 19

21 Viewing report results 2 Options - PDF or Excel (2007 or ) An will be sent to you providing you with the link to download your report. This link allows you to download the report again in future if you had not saved the report previously, saving you time and effort. Select the desired download format Click on this icon to download your report 20

22 How do I Request Custom Peer Groups?

23 General Information on Custom Peer Groups All peer group requests must be approved by Mercer Peer groups must satisfy certain requirements Benefits Prevalence Report: - Minimum 12 employers, No Maximum Benefits Practice Report Summary: - Minimum 12 employers, No Maximum Detailed Benefits Report: - Minimum 8 employers, Maximum 25 employers Depending on your subscription package, each approved peer group will be assessed a fee. However the peer group can be used for one survey cycle. 22

24 Steps to Request Custom Peer Groups The following summarizes the steps to request a custom peer group.
