1 Overview: If you are using a Qualtrics survey project as an online form, you might want to have the individual responses ed to a specific address instead of retrieving the information from Qualtrics on a regular basis. If you are a researcher, you might appreciate being notified that a survey has been submitted if it is sporadically collecting data. Perhaps you would like to send a confirmation to someone who completes a survey. Qualtrics uses the term " triggers" to refer to these notifications. You can create more than one notification for a single survey. Steps to create an notification upon survey submission: 1. Edit the survey. 2. Click on the Tools button under the Survey tab. 3. Choose Triggers from the list, and then choose Triggers. 4. Complete the message, similar to this example.
2 Add a Condition: If you want the notification sent based on one or more question responses. To Address: Often the address of the person who created or owns the survey but it can be any address. Be careful to enter it correctly in order to receive the notifications. You can enter multiple addresses separated by commas. From Name: The name that will appear as the sender - it is optional. Reply-To Also optional. Sometimes it is the same address as the To Address. If you omit it, the current default qualtrics.com address will be used which will reject replies. Subject: Enter the subject line of your choice. Frequently, the name of the survey project is included in this subject line. Body of Message: You can choose to leave this blank if you check the box for "Include Response Text". Alternatively, you can create a custom message using piped text. Piped text can come from the questions and responses from the surveys or can include other survey data. Click on the {a} button to insert piped text into the message body. You can format the text using the editing tools. When: Immediately, in 1 hr, 8 hrs, 1 day, 7 days, or 28 days. Most survey owners use the default choice of "Send immediately". Include Response Report: When checked, survey questions and answers appear in the body of the message, along with some survey metadata and links to view the survey's responses online. Show Full Question Text: When checked, the entire survey question will appear in the body of the message. You won't notice a difference with short questions. If this box is not checked, the question text is truncated at 96 characters for the response report. The question text will appear in full if you used piped text to add it to the message. 5.
