With Double Layer/ Dual Layer technology, you can record up to 8.5GB of information on a single-side disc with 2 recording layers, nearly two times of conventional 4.7GB DVD recordable media. The first DL recording capable product was introduced in spring 2004, and rapidly became a major success story in both consumer and business markets for those with high storage requirements. Market research shows that more than 95% of today s DVD writers support Double Layer (+R DL) or both Double Layer (+R DL) and Dual Layer (-R DL) DVD recording. Whilst DVD RW media is estimated to be re-recorded up to 1,000 times, the DVD-RAM media will allow the overwriting cycles up to 100,000. For daily data backups and frequent overwriting cycles the DVD-RAM support feature is ideal. DVD+R format allows faster reading/ writing speeds over the DVD-R format, and even offers higher Sony CD-R/RW advantage CD-Recordable / CD-Rewritable media support -Burn technology is designed to prevent errors in writing data onto a CD-R/RW disc in a CD-R/RW drive, by automatically setting up the optimum recording conditions for the media whilst automatically adjusting to the delay in data transmission from a host PC. Even if data writing onto a CD-R/RW disc is interrupted due to delays in data transmission from the host PC (buffer under-run), -Burn technology instantly controls and accurately connects the interruption and resumption points of the data recording to give continuous writing indispensable for CD-R/RW playback compatibility.

For technical support or service issues for Optical products, you can also Sony reserves the right to change the warranty of out of warranty and non-branded product. Standard Return-to-Base Warranty Under the terms of the standard Return-to-Base warranty service, the Customer is responsible for returning defective equipment, freight prepaid, to an approved warranty repair centre as advised by Sony. On receipt of the defective unit, Sony will examine it and validate the warranty. Sony will then return a replacement unit, freight prepaid to the customer.
