2 Introduction Terravision is a DVD/Blu Ray rental shop in Cork City. They rent a wide variety DVD/Blu Ray to customers in Cork. Discounts are offered to customers and the discounted amount is calculated based on the number of nights rental. Task Set up the spreadsheet and input the data as shown below in Figure 1. With alignments and formats as shown including merged cells and appropriate column widths. Note: All monetary data should be displayed in currency format with two decimal places. 3 Calculate 1.2 Rental Cost is Price Per Night * No. of Nights. 1.3 Amount is Rental Cost * Rate. 1.4 Total Inc. is the Rental Cost plus the Amount. 1.5 In row 12 calculate the Totals for Rental Cost, Amount and Total Inc In row 13 calculate the Averages for Rental Cost, Amount and Total Inc Insert your Name in the second column beside the appropriate label. 1.8 Save Task 1 as Rent 1 for printing out later. 4 Task Input the additional information as shown in Figure 2 into the spreadsheet Rent 1 and save this corrected spreadsheet as Rent 2. Discount Figure Delete the Figures in the Price Per Night column. Use an IF function to display the correct values. If the Type is Blu-Ray then the Price Per Night is 2.50 otherwise the Price Per Night is Discount is to be introduced. Use the LOOKUP function to insert Discount from the table into the column under the heading Discount. 2.4 Insert today s date from the computer clock into the cell beside the heading Date. 2.5 Insert the number of surnames in cell B19 using the Counta function. 2.6 Save these changes to Rent 2 for printing out later. 5 Task Input the Extra Discount Column as shown in Figure 3 into the spreadsheet Rent 2 and save this corrected spreadsheet as Rent 3. Rental Cost Amou nt Total Inc. Discount Extra Discount New Total Page 5 of 8
6 3.3 Insert a new column called New Total in column L. The New Total is the Total Inc minus (Discount plus Extra Discount). 3.4 Recalculate the Totals & Averages rows to include all columns. 3.5 Terravision are refurbishing and they need to get a 6000 loan. The loan is to be paid monthly over 3 years(36 months). There is an annual interest rate of 13%. The payments are made at the end of each month. Based on this information use the PMT function to calculate the monthly repayments on this loan. Enter your answer into cell B20. (2 Marks) 3.6 Sort the spreadsheet by Surname in Ascending Order. 3.7 Save these changes to Rent 3 for printing out later. Page 6 of 8
7 Task Using the data in rows 16 and 17 Produce a 3d Pie Chart to show the No of Nights Rental and the Discount. The chart should have the heading Discount for No of Nights Rental in size 12. Change the background Colour to Red. Display percentages clearly on the chart. Save the Chart on a new Sheet for printing out later. On the Chart 1 worksheet insert from your usb key the Disc picture into the Top Left hand corner of the pie chart. Reduce the size of the graphic to 2cm height and let the width adjust automatically. Save and Print the Chart. 4.2 Save the Chart as Chart1 either separately or as part of Rent 3 for printing out later. Page 7 of 8
