2 Network Connections The arrows in the network diagram below illustrate the direction in which the network connections are initiated; they do not indicate data flow. All network connections are initiated from the customer site; as a result, inbound network access or static IP addresses are not required. 3 Network Description The X2O Server is the application and content delivery server located at a data center accessible over the Internet. The server runs both the XpresenterServer database in SQL Server, and the X2O Portal, which is an IIS Web server application that provides the graphical interface and tools to manage, monitor, and control the X2O players. The X2O Player connects to the server over port (or secondary port 55513). Note that this connection uses SSL encryption to protect customer data from interception over the Internet. The end-user connects to the X2O Portal over standard Web ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS). SSL encryption can be optionally configured to protect data from interception. Content Distribution and Storage (CDS) is an optional component in the X2O environment that removes the load associated with the content delivery from the XpresenterServer database to efficiently serve various assets to the X2O players over standard Web ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS). This configuration is beneficial for X2O installations with 200+ player connections. The X2O Data Portal is an intermediate component that sits between the X2O players and the original data sources. The data portal engine compiles and then executes custom parser scripts to fetch, format, and return data in response to requests from the X2O players. The X2O Player connects to the Data Portal over port 443 (HTTPS) to obtain the required data. Feeds provided by X2O are based on the services outlined in the customer's contract with X2O Media. The Data Portal can also be configured to subscribe to data feeds hosted in third-party environments. Note that it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that their use of any third-party content complies with the licensing restrictions imposed by the data feed provider, and to obtain all necessary licenses, contracts, or clearances for such use of the data feeds and their content. 3
